Switched from MSPNP1 to BrainMS3 and fuel pump no longer primes
Does the fuel pump prime when cranking or should it prime before ignition is even turned?
|
Did you jump the fuel pump in the afm connector ?
|
Hey Scott, no I didn't (didn't know I had to since MS1 was working). It primes testing from diagnostic connector. How do I do this?
I don't have fuel or spark it turns out edit: I'm going to have to give up for the night. Composite logger isn't showing anything. |
Is it a matter of grounding the red wire 2O?
|
|
I no longer have the original AFM connector, just a bundle of sealed cable ends.
:( |
|
Thanks!!
Would I be able to ground 2-o from the ECU and use the wire to drive the EBC? 2-0 is red on the second ECU connector? |
sorry, that advice was wrong (too early to think).
You need to connect the RED wire on the AFM connector bundle to the Fuel Pump Relay wire (Lt Green) on the same bundle. The MS is the ground. It sends the ground out to 2O, and that goes back to the FP relay, which sends 12v to the pump once grounded. I'll check on the color code for the FP Relay. not sure where the EBC comes into play here... |

Ok, I greatly appreciate it.
re: EBC I'm trying to find wires I can piggy back to the ecu to run the power/ground for the EBC. I can grab power from white w/red on the diagnostic port, but would there be any free wires from AFM leading back to the ECU that I can reassign to the boost controller on MS3? |
Yes, you can send it to 2K (Lt Green/Red). You can power it from the blue power connector by the driver headlight.

Ok, so: EBC reassign 2k (Lt Green/Red)to MS3 as EBC (-) Tap Diagnostic Connector (White/red) as EBC (+) Fuel Pump Connect 2o (red) to supply ground to light green which are both on the AFM wiring seem about right? |
yes.

I just want to chime in and say thanks Braineak for the quick responses! I'm helping out psyber with the turbo build at my house.
Now we just need to solve the no spark issue :) |
