the folder he sent me doesnt say s19 anything...
And it wont let me upload the zip here for some reason...

the zip is titled 1_8L_Piggy_029v
inside are 4 files...airdenfactor, matfactor, thermfactor, and msns-extra_mod

I tried using this file when Easytherm prompted me too but it wont let me...
I saved the zip to my desktop for easy access, and its as if its not even there...

The msns-extra_mod.s19 is the file to use.
You probably have to "unzip" the folder. Put the files on your desktop or somewhere else. Easytherm can't access zipped folders.

I figure if you get the car on the road we won't have to see your "help me" threads anymore

lol, ouch

Ok it wrote all 1750lines...

Then I just copy/pasted the 3 inc files (air, mat, therm) into
mtgcfg folder...(I overwrote the older ones)

Gonna remove boot, attach coils, load msq and start...will report back in a few

DO NOT ATTACH YOUR COILS UNTIL YOU BURN YOUR MSQ FOR THE FIRST TIME. IT WILL FRY THEM.
Once you have burned your first MSQ you can reattach the coils again and not worry about it.

well she's on...dunno how to really check if it took the new eztherm stuff but i didnt encounter any errors/issues so...

idle is about 200rpm lower & a decent amount richer...

Would the changes I made impact timing, afr's, etc??
Just wondering cuz the next thing i was gonna do is redo the timing, and get it to idle in 14's and back up around 850-900rpm...

Is that a waste of time?

You shouldn't have to reset the trigger angle.

Scott said you rescaled your fuel and spark tables. Why did you do that?

I didnt rescale?? I did a VE analyzer and thats what I'm running now for fuel

I've never even gone into the spark other than for trigger angle/timing

Ps--timing is fine...showing about 18* on map, and whatever I put it at off map

Pps--the map values in the fuel table is the only thing i mentioned that dont look right, they only go as high as 140kpa..possibly bc thats what the ve analyzer saw as the highest pressure...

Default Datalog Attached

Someone please have a good look at this and tell me what I'm doing wrong..
I'm really lost

FYI easytherm flash is done, timing is good, idles ok...
i realllllllllly forced the revs up while driving and while free revving...

i dont think i made it to 2k rpm (wot-under load) and I think I may have mde it to just under 4k rpm (90% wot--free rev)

I'm really at a loss and have done all troubeshooting i can...

the ONLY think I can think of at this point is my boost target table being too low, but its the one scott said to start with...(I attached it), my boost protection is at 16psi so I dont think its the issue...

I'm really discouraged at all this right now..., not at anyone, just the current situation

--Mind you during all this not a drop of any kind of fluid, not a puff of smoke...even under the above mentioned "wot" situation...From what I can tell the car is actually holding up quite nicely...just doesnt wanna DO anything

http://www.megasquirtpnp.com/models/...Map_101007.msq

Download that MSQ. Then open in in megatune, go to VE Table 1, burn it to the ECU. Just the fuel table, do not rescale it or anything. Then do the same for the spark table. This will start you out with good maps. If your tables were accidentally rescaled that could cause issues. If your timing is way too retarded or advanced because because of the way the table was rescaled this could be the issue.

Default Some success!

Well I dunno what exactly was the problem(prob several things), but right after I posted that log i decided to look at my spark table...the kpa's for both fuel and spark were adjusted via the MLV analyzer!! I still dunno exactly what it was, but at the time i couldnt get to the higher points in the map, so it scaled to max 140kpa..I thought it was just doing fuel tho

Anyway, seeing this I went back to the original msq, and just redid all the changes that I needed (afr targets, boost kpa targets, overboost, etc).
And used the original tables for fuel and spark that scott sent me (i think 94-95pnp).

I started her up, redid the timing/trigger angle and went for a drive not expecting much...

It felt a little better, like it was fighting less but not much power...
So I started mesing with the boost kpa targets, and just put everything to 100 to see what max boost got me..

BIG difference...not really boosting much, not much power, but she seems like she can actually be tuned now to get where I need to be..
I was able to get to 3k rpm (wasnt forcing it), and like 20+mph!!! And she was runnign very rich throught...I know its not fast--but remember I was at 2krpm and 10mph MAXX just an hour ago!

Anyway, now I feel much better. I know I have a long way to go for sure, but I THINK I just need to do normal stuff now..
Need 9psi spring for bov, check all piping/couplers for leaks/get my exhaust on there so neighbors dont kill me and then TUNE tune tune, and learn learn learn.
I still dont know what the boost kpa targets measure out to be in psi...but i will get the details from Scott and set it up properly...For now all I know is 100 = full boost, 0 = none, and 30 is wayyy to little!!

Unreal...but really happy for the help, cant thank you enough!! Prob still gonna be some more "help" threads, but hopefully alot easier and not many more!!! I really searched and didnt find anything to help in this situation
besides I'm sure eventually someone will run into the sme problem!! In fact I'm gonna let aflac know my fix and see if it helps him!
Thanks again!

Tony, I think it is time to man-up and cut your losses. I'll do you a favor and take this worthless system off your hands. I am such a nice guy I will even help take it all off.

I am pretty much totally useless when it comes to troubleshooting here. I wish I could help.

This is totally unrelated to the problem at hand, but I did notice that you said --Boost/Vac gauge was @ 0psi...even thru idle, cruise, and throttle

The boost gauge is not running through the MS at all, right? So it should be showing a vacuum at idle and cruise.

Maybe a pinched line?

Get this ****** running right already!

Good luck

dude, maybe I can pay u to take this POS off my hands...

Yea I wasn't thinking when I wrote that...idle shows vacuum, I meant all conditions under load show 0psi...

We're getting there man...this is resolved, now I need to take care of a few odds/ends and TUUUUUNE....
My goal is to get it done in time to pay Phil back when he's squirting...then we gotta get the rest of the crew boostin'
We'd have a sweet *** group of rides man...Sebas will be up and running soon in due time too...Eli already is too...waiting on you & Joe....cmmmmon pull da trigger!!

Yea, I almost pulled the trigger a little too quick. I have the cash in hand to throw down, but some unexpected potential expenses just came up.

I should know by this time next week whether I have the job that I have been interviewing for. Only two more people that I need to impress there. If I get the job I have to have moving expenses available. Money should free up pretty quickly after the move.

Here is the place that I would most likely take: sweet crib Twice the size about 50 feet closer to the water and a couple hundred less a month.

Keep your fingers crossed for me

Default Update--tuning Help...

Ok, so it's running.

1Was REALLY rich w/ the original table..Did a few datalogs/VE analyzers/my own changes to the VE..
Just got back from running 3 diff VE's and still running CRAZY rich (10's-11's), only SLIGHT improvement--except for idle (14's)... I ran 2 diff VE's made from VE analyzer, and 1 that I made...
I'm worried that the values are getting pretty low, and don't want to keep leaning it out, only to find out an underlying issue/cause for this...
Timing is dead on, and I have not messed with the Spark table at all...

2 The cooling issue seems to have all but disappeared once I corrected (thanks guys) easytherm, and went to an open downpipe..
Coolant ranges between 160's-180's, fans come on, etc...
BUT I did notice that the manifold and turbine literally glow red after a couple decent runs at it...I know this is somewhat normal on something like a 3rd gear pull to redline at decent boost levels, but I'm seeing max 7psi and keepign it under 4krpm since its not tuned...Should I be concerned??

I read thru all the ebc/ebc tuning threads and have a much better understanding on the tuning side of it. I now understand why the DC target tables are used vs the Kpa targets...and my settings are set so that its using only the DC boost table..
I haven't gotten around to really adjusting it for more boost, since the tune is real bad right now..So everything we see here is based on WG (7psi). I'm sure I'll have some questions on that as well, but trying to take it 1 thing at a time...

---I've attached the 3 VE tables I was using tonight, and a couple logs from tonight as well, the MSQ, and the Spark table just to give a good overall picture to see if you guys think there's plenty room to go leaner OR if there's a underlying cause for this before I lean it out any further...
You'll be able to see the orig VE vs the modified ones to see how lean I went (took anywhere from 4-10pts off throughout...mostly 6-8pts leaner).

Appreciate your time and thoughts guys!
