Toyota cop conflicting ports

I finished my Toyota COP installation this morning, and it fired up perfect the first time. No conflicts, no issues whatsoever. I idled her for about 10 minutes and then shut her down. When I went to start her back up about 10 minutes later, I saw this.

I have no idea why this happened. Now, as soon as I turn the key to the accessory position, the fans kick on. I'm running the fans on.

Any ideas? I didn't let out any magic smoke, and it ran beautifully until I shut her down the first time.

Sequential COPs? If so, you may not have enough outputs to do that, depending on whether you have A/C, EBC, etc.

dieselmiata 09-21-2014 02:19 PM

Wired for batch, base on this:https://www.miataturbo.net/useful-sa...writeup-12704/

No A/C, no EBC.

The strange thing to me is that it fired right up the first time, almost like I hadn't changed out anything at all.

Wired for batch but selected "Coil on plugs"? That won't work. Select wasted spark instead.

Christ.

I don't recall changing that, but derp.

That's what I get for trying to hurry through the finishing stages of a project.

Works fine now though, thanks Rev.

Facepalm, greek-style. Propped for the lols.

Don't feel too bad dieselmiata. I did the same thing few days ago when i installed my cops.
Turns out one my cop came fried or i somehow fried it. I think i forgot to changed my dwells in test mode. It's at 4.0 by default in tunerstudio. not sure how i fried only one coil tho instead of two. oh well will order new one. Hopefully get it to run soon. Reverant may be you can point me in right direction. any diy on how to wire toyota cops for full sequential ? Don't you have to use ALED or WLED for extra spark output?

Reverant 09-23-2014 09:30 AM

Yes, you do have to use WLED and ALED. That means those two can't be used for anything else (ie cooling fans etc).

Braineack 09-23-2014 10:30 AM

dwell at 4.0ms, 5.0ms, 6-7-8ms, won't fry a coil.

Dhruvil 09-23-2014 11:27 AM

Well what caused it to fried than? How come i only burnup one coil? I am not using ALED and WLED for anything. My fans are wired straight. Any diagrams or diy on how to wired them using ALED and WLED?

Thanks!

You said it might have been friend when it was delivered.

Dhruvil 09-23-2014 11:33 AM

True adamiata. I am just wondering what can cause a coil to fry. Sorry I suck at English.

Dhruvil 11-14-2014 05:08 AM

So now I am getting spark to all the coils in test mode but car doesn't fire up. It doesn't even act like it wants to fire up. Not sure what's going on :/

start a new thread that actually addresses your issue.

Dhruvil 11-18-2014 12:59 AM

Sorry about that. New thread posted.

I did this and it ran perfect but I could not get the tacho to work

timk 11-20-2014 07:42 PM

Dhruvil that gauge of wiring looks a bit light. It's probably fine for the trigger but not for GND or +12V. Not sure if that's your problem or not but it certainly can't be helping.
