Default Trying to spool faster. Peek at your spark maps?

so, im trying to get my turbo to spool a bit quicker and i hear that can be accomplished with a bit of spark retardedness. Can i take a look at some spark maps that you guys are running? I'm probably going to play around with it tonight and do some datalogs to see if i can get it to spool.

Depends on where you're trying to spool.

I'd imagine the gains in power and throttle response on the low end from advancing the timing greatly outweigh any minor increase in spool time from retarding it.

i haven't done this yet, but i you're probably going to be looking in the ranges of 100-170kpa and 2500-3500 rpm

Try leaner and more advanced--works pretty well for me and my butt dyno.

look at the maps and determine what cells you're in about 500 rpm sooner than you are when you spool now. retard by 5 degrees and see if it makes a difference.

yeah so lean fuel, retard timing. do it 500 rpm before you see 1psi on the datalog. see what happens.
