Tune Review
Hello, I've been lurking here a lot while learning how to tune and finally made an account. First off, thanks to everyone for making this info accessible - it's saved me lots of time so far. The car is a stock '99 NB1 N/A BP4W with all the bolt-ons. MS3ProPNP, DIY intake, squaretop, RB header/exhaust, FF640 (set to 58psi fixed), Spartan 3 CAN wideband, and a flex sensor. It's mostly a track car that gets driven to events. It's been running well on both 93 and ethanol, but there are some issues I haven't been able to figure out. Anyways, I have a few questions and would like some feedback.
- Stalling occasionally when dropping back to idle. I can't consistently reproduce the issue. Most of the time it settles into idle just fine, and other times it will stall at consecutive stop signs. At first I thought it was heat soak related, but now the weather has cooled into the 60's and it's still happening. I captured one of them in "2022-10-03_IdleStallandPulls.mlg" @127s. There's also a few 3rd gear pulls at the end for fun.
- Rich warmup. Idle VE was tuned with CLT >185F and EGO correction off. After ASE is over, it's still rich without any WUE adder. I've played around a bunch and don't know where the extra fuel is coming from. Is it normal for WUE to be at 100% around 100F?
- Idle is ok, probably could be better though. Not sure how to improve or what to look for.
- The highest ethanol content I've found so far is E75, so I tuned VE3 on that and set the blend to be fully on VE3 at E70. Will I need to retune on E85 if I ever find it?
- I haven't touched accel-TPSdot enrichment, and I know I have to redo it with the injectors, but am unsure what the process is. What should I be looking for in MLV?

Made some progress this afternoon. Dropped timing to 15 at idle, lowered AFR a little to 14.2, but it was closed loop PID delay that seems to have solved my problem so far. It was previously set to 2, which I found some documentation about. Adjusted it up and down until settling on 5. Need to torture test it a bit, but its a big step in the right direction.

following because ive noticed the same rich warmup on my nb1 miata with fic 1000s. I'm not the best at this tuning thing I'll admit. But yeah it seems that my enrichments are different from what I've seen on other tunes where mine drop off earlier in temp but even with no enrichments my idle starts off a bit rich in the mid 12s but it's odd because eventually it'll start going back to close to stoich without ego. I think for me it's my idle that needs better tuned.
