Default Tuner studio inital settings

Hi, I had a mspnp pro installed and tuned at a shop on my 2002 Miata that was previously running on tuning cards for an FFS supercharger.

Its currently running great, however, cold starts can be a little rough sometimes and I'd potentially like to tune once Im more knowledgeable (looking into to methanol/WI)

My question is, once downloaded, will my tuner studio automatically read the tune that is currently on the ecu and all the correct initial settings will be loaded with it?(setting injector size, etc.)

When you plug into the ECU and key on, tuner studio will connect to the ECU and pull up the tune installed on the ECU. If you have a different tune already open in tuner studio it will prompt you to keep the tune on the ECU or send the new tune to the ECU.

Some versions of tuner studio will automatically create a restore point, so you don't lose the previous tune if you overwrite it (I'm not sure if this is a standard feature or part of their more expensive packages)

TunerStudio will not assume what is "right" for your car. It will read what's there in the ECU, note any differences and give you the chance to keep what's in the ECU or load what's in TS. It's up to you to determine "what's right", so again, choose wisely.

If your car is running "good enough", save that tune with a different name. Don't just depend on the Restore Point because the number of restore points that TS will save is finite and you risk losing that if you aren't aware of that (ask me how I know that). After that you can begin the journey down the rabbit hole that is tuning.

Well, you won’t have a project yet. So when you make a new project, connect to the ecu, it won’t give you the warning these people are talking about. Ans yes, it’ll be all the settings you’re currently running.
