Tuning on the Fly
im in the market right now for a ems but can decide if i should just buy mspnp or save a little more for aem standalone...
my questions about mspnp are: ---can you tuning the fuel/ignition cells on the fly? ---anti-lag possibly?...i would be useful for big turbos(knowing the consequences) |
yes and yes.
there's autotune & realtime manual tuning plus EGO corrections for closed loop AFR targets traction control, antilag (flatshift), launch control built in as well. |
flat shift != anti lag.
flat shift is a rolling rev limiter that means you can keep the pedal matted and the RPM will stay at your optimal shift completion RPM. anti lag is combustion in the mani to spool the turbo. |
turn spark cut on during flatshift and you pretty much have antilag.

cool but i noticed that the aem standalones, you were able to enter the ratio while in that cell...therefore tuning on the fly...
--i noticed on some of the idle adjustable windows it said burn to ecu and was under the impression that you had to do the same for the fuel maps... screen shots maybe? |

They're permanetly burned when you hit the burn to ECU button, if you don't and then close the window/shuct down the engine the changes will be lost. everthing else that can be adjusted isn't in effect until you hit the burn to ECU button. I can't see why adjusting anything else being instant rather than hitting a burn to ecu button would be in any way beneficial, infact having that button stops accidental changes ;) |

Hmm. I thought antilag was spark on during the exhaust cycle, along with fuel, so the fuel would light as it was being pushed out of the chamber. not that i would do such a thing, i wouldnt want to replace my exhaust mani/turbo every time I used it.

thanks guys...this is what i thought but a tuner in my area said that megasquirt sucks due to the fact that "its basically a afc" but i needed something or someone in the area(no one) to back me up!!!...i never thought about downloading the software and showing him not to mess with megasquirt!!!!

Someone should edit Wikipedia so then it has to be true.... |
5th injector = intercooler Jef, you know that, don't be an ass.
|
he told me to opt for aem but for the price and adjustablilty of megasquirt it'll do fine for what it does!!!...
---apexi safc with bipes wouldn't be bad for a setup but combine the price you pay for both and you can get yourselft a mspnp!!! |
You could go with a AEM FIC, they're cheap. $350 shipped from the right seller.

Sorry I forgot. |
I love these guys who don't think the Megasquirt can do anything, or the guys who refuse to tune it.
|
"ya get what ya pay for" i always like that argument.
