Default vtps issues 91 miata mspnp2

I'm using a wells tps201 I'm having a 5v issue. when I use my multimeter on the stock plug I'm getting the 5v but when I plug my tps into it , it drops to 4v and megasquirt does not notice it's there. Everything is wired correctly I don't know what's wrong. I've heard of people having issues with installing tps because of bad solder points on the megasquirt board being bad but they get no voltage so I don't belive that's it or am I wrong? Any help would be appreciated.
