Do bear in mind that y8s is boosted - I'm pretty sure that while I had significant gains between 1500 and 400rpm, its wasn't more than 10-15hp at best.

I'm boosted as well. I feel like I'm making less power now that I have MS instead of my piggyback XEDE. Having VVT and midrange power back should help

I don't seem to get the logic I thought I understood half a year ago.
But that's not uncommon for me, the issues become very real when you actually are performing the installation, instead at the planning phase... Basic facts:

I hope it will run as before with longer wires if I need to just connect the CMP and CKP back to the DIYPNP, without the VVTuner, as a last resort. Testing without the VVTuner should be the first test I think (so I know if any of my new soldering in the DIYPNP is flawed). |
Hmm, I figured out what setup that works for me.
Passing the CMP and CKP to the VVtuner and then taking them back (inverted) to the DIYPNP. Signal Ground disconnected 12V from the DIYPNP main 12V Ground (system+EMS) from basic DIYPNP GND It started (only in this connection/option) but when i connected the OCV the VVTuner died (no signals passed through and no serial communication)... I have 8 Ohms over the OCV and maybe there have been a short at some point (OCV connected through a flawed connector). Have I bricked the VVTuner (the LED still lights up though), or is there someway to bring it to life again? |

I feed the 12V and GND out from the DB15 on the DIYPNP. Shorting the OCV wires on the VVTuner apparently make it draw enough current to toast the solder-point -> DB15 trace on the DIYPNP board. Choosing another pin and making sure not to short the OCV wires made everything work as it should. Soldering the 12V and GND directly to the DB15 pins might be better. Those of you who are able to read specs might have anticipated this (max current on the DB15 traces and max current draw on the VVTuner), but I was mostly focused on making it work as fast as possible :noob: |

I have used the VVTuner with some good results.
I wired the outputs from the CMP and CKP sensors from the jumper board in the DIYPNP to the DB15 plug along with power and ground. I then ran the CMP and CKP sensor outputs from the VVTuner (Inverted) back through different pins on the DB15 and connected them to the Input spots on the DIYPNP. |
