Default VVT Issue

Posting here too in case anyone has any experience with this. But basically my VVT target is getting "stuck" I have a bunch of logs, and a good explanation here: Megasquirt Support Forum (MSEXTRA) ? VVT Issues (View topic)

This is a video showing the issue

Let me know if you have seen anything like this before.

Looks like buggy code to me...
You've tried different versions of firmware?
Not on a puter that has mlv on it. What is the actual cam position doing?
The newest stable release, 1.5.whatever vvt works (I'm using it). I think you mentioned other things didn't work there, but it would be simple to try and determine if it is a firmware problem.

that issue is very similar to mine. I'll try the new cap and r11 adjustment.

1.5 has a bug preventing me from downgrading.

Also to note. Those logs were taken with the VVT duty locked at 0.

Did you take a composite log?

Turns out it looks like I was losing cam sync and thats what was causing the issue.

Megasquirt Support Forum (MSEXTRA) ? VVT with Flying Miata 36-2 wheel (View topic)

First I switched to updating the VVT angle based on timing instead of cam events, and that worked, then I swapped out the .22uf cap for a .001uF cap and now it seems like everything is working fine.

Soldering is ugly but I've got shakey hands.

what type of cap did you use? do you have a part number?

what did you set control interval time to? did you leave it at 10?

I found something at work. I think it was a 1206, or maybe a 1008?

I switched back to sync'd with cam.
