what gauge wire to solder in MS board?

I am going to do the VTPS mod on my gen1 90-93 mspnp. The instructions dont specify what gauge wire to use for the modification on the actual board. Would 20g or 18g work?
Thanks

TPS is an extremely low-current signal. For internal mods, I like to use 30ga bus wire, the same stuff we used to use for wire-wrap boards.

24ga wire (such as from a CAT5 jumper cable) is also convenient for internal mods like this. A bit thick for my taste, and the insulation likes to melt, but easy to come by.

18-20ga, in my opinion, is way too thick. Electrically it's fine, just hard to work with in tight spaces. If it's all you have, and you're comfortable working with it, it'll suffice. Just a matter of preference.

I use 22ga solid copper, because that's what I have; no good reason to use anything thicker.

please don't be the guy that uses speaker wire.

Thanks guys. I hAve some cat5 wire I can strip and use

This reminds me why I stopped working on Megasquirts that other people have assembled.

For internal wiring where there is no relative movement between parts (ie: on a pcb board like the Mega squirt), solid copper wire works well and is easier to work with. I think 22ga is the standard breadboard jumper wire size so it should fit the pcb board holes.

For all wiring external to the pcb board braided wire (like cat5 or speaker wire) is preferred since the solid core stuff can easily fatigue and break due to repeated motion.

I got a roll of insulated 30g bus wire at Radio Shack. It was $5.50. I don't do half ass, lol speaker wire???

I've seen like 12-14g speaker wire being used inside a MS before.

I wired everything (the MS already had the mod, thats why the current tps wasnt connected...duhhh). I installed the auto tps and wired it per Joe Perez instructions, Red/black to red, black to black and green to green leaving the auto tps red cable off.
When I go to tuner studio to calibrate the tps there is a blue bar under the calibration that keeps increasing.
For example when I do the closed tps is "10", then 2 minutes later increases to "23", then "50" after 5 minutes. ANd the open calibration reads exactly the same.

What the hell?
