Why is my Dashpot not working?

Well Ken on MSExtra has responded and he thinks it's an issue with my dash pot decay settings.
I've set it to zero and i'll see what happens on my commute tomorrow.
But I've no idea what the hell this setting is, why would you want the despot to decay away over time. The documentation on this is severely lacking too, there's none!
Anyone know anything about it?

Well setting the dashpot Decay setting to zero was like magic, the car behaves like stock 95% of the time now.
Only when coming to idle from high revs is there a dip now, I'll probably use the idle RPM timing correction thingy to help that.

I still want to know what the dashpot decay setting is for.
There is literally no documentation on it. Lack of documentation is one of the most frustrating parts of MegaSquirt ownership.
