Default 94octane to 87?

94 octane to 87octane. Would this be doable with water injection leaving my non water injection timing alone with my current setup (rx7-intercooler). Just wondering incase gas prices get out of hand this summer. It's already costing me 40$ a fill up with premium in Canada currently....This summer I might see a 60$ fill up.

You would probably be fine. Seems silly for $20 CAD though.

Premium costs me $2.12-2.15 a tank over regular in the US. I don't understand people who want to risk their motor and lose power just to save a few bucks per tank.

<RANT>

Damn, you guys who can get 93/94 octane really suck. Try having only 91 available and trying to boost your car and you guys are cheaping out trying to run 87??? WTF?

Nuatica just pony up the money for good gas. Or use crap gas and stay out of boost.

Seriously, everytime I see threads like this, I think,

"IT'S TWO DOLLARS PER TANK!"

Ya, Ya.....I'm just thinking worst case scenario in which case I probably wouldn't go into boost anyway. If IRAN gets out of hand, prices can go wacko....Canadians should expect to see 1.40-2.00 a litre this year regardless.....(NOT A GALLON). I don't get this since Canada is got there own oil pumping up north.

hell there are oil wells pumping not 10 miles from me from time to time the government is still subsidizing oil and we are severly undercapacity for our refining needs.

I pay an average of $3.40 a gallon for 91 octane crapoline. It's roughly $2 dollars more per tankful to fill up on 91 versus 87. Not even worth considering. 2 less grande White Chocolate Mochas a week.
Europe has been having to deal with redunculous gas prices for years. We've been the lucky ones.

speakind of gas prices how much gas would WI save? has anyone figured this out? i mean if you are running WI you won't have to add much extra fuel just to cool the charge, this would probably save you that 2 dollars a tank or more, so wouldn't you come out on top running WI anyways?
