Just got my progressive devils own WI installed and my pump wouldnt shut off. Looked at the MAP sensor and it was smoking out the bottom. Verified that the sensor is grounded. Power input is 12v accessory. helps

Yes. Ask me how I know. I did the same. It's toast for sure.

 

There goes 50 dollars down the drain. Make me think twice about double checking required voltages.

Um, its a piece of **** that never worked right from day 1? Travis ordered it for me so I can get a MAP sensor quicker for my Adaptronic instead of waiting on one from australia. Well, the pins were in different arrangement, the wires were not color coded and about as thick as a piece of lint, and it was always reading 52kpa as atmospheric pressure, when it should be 100. When the car was started it would go down a teeny bit and still not work right. After about 2 months of complete and utter failure ******* with it I got sick of it. Travis ordered me a good one from adaptronic and I'm putting it in right now. The two sensors, while supposed to look the same (since they're both "gm style 3 bar map sensor") are nothing alike. Tonight I'll be starting the car for the first time with a REAL gm style map sensor and not the chinese knockoff bullshit that I got from ebay.
I'm usually not a big hater of ebay. This time though the product that I got was complete ****.

A. They work great for years and years
B. Paperweight after you hit boost the first time

I think maybe i should start labeling them so people who dont' know will see. We don't sell many gm 3 bar map sensor anymore now that our dvc-30 controller with its built in map sensor is out. I hate hearing about people burning them up.
