it shows how it mounts the tank or it gets the hose again (v. trunk-mounted tank)
2.5 gallon tank mounted in the trunk. I rigged up some ghetto-ass eyebolts and cable and hated how it came out, so now I'm back to square one.
Who among you has a trunk-mounted water tank and how did you mount it? I am thinking maybe just ratchet straps and eyebolts in the floor? |
i glued my gallon to a peice of wood and bolted the shit down and the 1/2 gallon other tank i have in line is bolted to the back of the trunk. I would get some steal bands bend em up drill holes and viola done.

+1 on that,Use Aluminum instead.

Not a 2.5 gal, but:

The black material bolted to the trunk floor is plywood. Two T-nuts are installed into the underside of it for the tank retaining bolts to screw into. |
So, Joe. You've removed your jack - or at least made it impossible to get out - and you still have the jack handle in there? WTF?

Shit breaks, tires go flat.. My insurance reimburses for local tows, however its still out of pocket expense. They won't reimburse me for a tow in the middle of nowhere to my house, however. Better safe than sorry. |
do you hear that Precious? Its going to get the hose.
|
oh noooes!!1

Hehehe.
I think the jack that came with my car weighs ~5 lbs, and it tucks in neatly in that little space on the floor behind the driver's seat. I have a fire extinguisher in the space behind the pax seat. In the trunk, I keep a gym bag containing a 12v tire inflater, a tire plugging kit (the kind with a gun that shoots mushroom plugs), a spare quart of oil and a small funnel, leather gloves, pressure gauge, windex, a roll of paper towels, etc. A set of heavy jumper cables tuck up into the tunnel forward of where the spare tire used to be. And yes, I still have room for groceries. |

I've wondered why someone hasn't found a tank that will drop down into the jack opening in the trunk that Joe's sits on top of. Should be some kind of durable tank out there that will fit that opening. A 1 gallon tank could be hidden completely there. A 2 to 2.5 gallon would sit up like Joe's does but with 1/2 of it in that well. Just thinking about keeping the center of gravity low.

Set of jumper cables: 3 lbs Not being stuck by the side of the road waiting for a Real Man to show up so you can confirm all of his pre-conceptions about Miata drivers and then find out several months later that he's been giving your wife the "special attention" you never could: priceless. There are some things money can't buy. For everything else, there's boost. |
