Water Injection = Steam Cleaning
I will be receving a turbo kit soon in the mail. The plan was to run a low boost (7-8psi) set up with only water injection. Now the question...
I have cleaned high milage engines (150k+) with the old method of pouring water into the intake manifold to clean of carbon. I have seen this done before with an open header, and chunks of carbon were see flying out.
Since water injection essientally steam cleans the engine...
I would like to know if carbon deposits will harm the turbo charger? My engine has 180k on the clock.
I spent a good amount of money on this kit, and I dont want to mess it up on the first start up.
Any help is appreciated!

No it will not if anything it will just desintigrate like ash hitting a fan. Also WI is only on durring boost so chances of messing it up on the first start up are low. After the first 1/2 mile or so you might do some damage but i highly doubt it also be carefull no to bend any rods as some have done very bizzzarly indeed. GL
