Default 1.6 HKS 256 cams

Hey guys i have got some hks 256s from my 1.6 for sale here, they are used but as seen in the pics they are in good condition. They made 114.9whp on a dynojet with literally not one mod to the car accept removing the ac ps steering belt which was not a noticeable gain when i did it. From what i have seen they go for 400ish each new so 400obo for the set seems fair to me.

no degree no tuning nothing just stuck em in new timing belt and started it up. The lope was not noticeable by an average person, i could tell it was idling different because iv been driving the car for years but it is by no means a rough idle. it is actually very very smooth and i felt like the car ran smoother through mid range and top end for sure. They made daily driving more enjoyable, no loss of low end power and a blatantly obvious gain up above 4500rpms.

+1. I had a set on my first miata, and was very pleased with the performance. My cylinder head was stock. The only other parts I had was a full exhast upgrade, air filter, and adjustable cam gears.

Is there a benefit to running these on a turbo application?

my gain was 22rwhp on completely stock car, on a turbo car the gain should be significantly higher. the lsa is low and the duration is mild so they would make for a better turbo cam then n/a cam, not saying that they dont work good for n/a just that for an all out n/a cam there are better option. These cams are perfect for street cars that get driven on a daily basis where you dont want ridiculous 1200rpm idle and stuff. In short yes these cams would benefit a turboed car greatly.

that's a pretty good gain... did you do any tuning to get to those numbers? or was this a flat out... stock vs... putting two new cams in and dyno reading it again?

no tuning or degree i thought it was incredible as well since the car is literally stock minus an ac power steering belt and it made 114.9whp, ran pretty good.

i do believe these cams are perfect for turbo applications. i had a similar grind in my dsm and it reacted very well also. you would prolly see an even larger gain on a turbo carthen you would on an n/a car. even if it were the same gain a typical 1.6 with a turbo kit makes like 220? 240 is a big step up.
