Thats the crazy part, until the last couple days it wasn't running that rich. Well I didn't think it was that rich. The Exhaust shop took care of me, they gave me a new cat under warranty, and re-ran my exhaust to get rid of a annoying knock and vibration I was getting while idling, or driving. Definitely good guys who stand behind their work.

Thanks, yeah it's pretty exciting, and just a little crazy at times.
PM'd you about sponsorship. I'd love to ride in your miata. Bring it by when you get a chance. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, here's the finished ramhorn manifold: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/DSCF5060.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/DSCF5062.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/DSCF5063.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/DSCF5065.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/DSCF5067.jpg |
Sure thing. Let me know when you're ready to upgrade ;)
Interested in a test pipe, can I get one with an O2 bung?
PM'd
I love my test pipe.
That mani looks awesome, I might have to start over and do one like that!
I'll be messaging you sometime for a TD04 manifold/downpipe :D (wrx turbo).
Thanks. This one is pretty interesting, too:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...esrmsmani2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...esrmsmani7.jpg One day, I'd like to do a dyno shoot out comparing different manifold designs. I'm curious to see how much peak power and spool are affected with log/short tubular/equal length manifolds in a mild, 225hp-275hp setup. Maybe it'll happen by Spring. wherestheboost, let me know when you're ready. |
very nice!
omg you better make me one already I want one soon!! I'm shooting for <250 Since I finally got a job I can upgrade the miota even more!!!!
If you could do equal length and some swirl action (primaries arrange clockwise/counterclockwise in firing order...) I think that'd be the cake... but yeah, that's annoying to do. I like the last one you did - sweeet :D

Cut me those damn decals and I'll think about it :bigtu:
Wherestheboost, do you have a pic of such manifold? You mean separate pulse/twin scroll? That last manifold isnt mine BTW. This is what I've been working on (had to show it off before shipping to the owner :)): Attachment 201943 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/DSCF5227.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/DSCF5218.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/DSCF5214.jpg Attachment 201943 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...R/DSCF5209.jpg |
Damn I love your work....some day when I upgrade I'm giving you a call! Hope your still hangin around these parts by then and or still doing this type of work...;)
Man wow
I keep coming back to this thread and ogling that ramhorn manifold.
This is months down the road, but how possible would it be to make a tubular manifold to replace a BEGi 1.6 cast manifold? If it was made to fit the same setup, would it still flow better or would the improvement be marginal? |
So wait...this is all mig? What's the thickness of the tubing you're using? ...and how big is your welder? Maybe there's hope for the little mig I have at home :D
Umm... as far as the separate twin/scroll thing - yeah, nothing that complicated. I just meant the order of the pipes as they entered the collector. Let's say in this image... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...esrmsmani2.jpg From this view...going counter clockwise from the lower left... you'd have 1-4-3-2. But the firing order is... 1-3-4-2 (right? I forget). But anyways, what I meant was simply making the order in the collector match the firing order. The so called "swirl" from header design stuffs... that and equal length. |
....I want to sell my greddy. Everything is lovely, just lovely. :bigtu:
All TIG baby.
I seriously wish My welds would come out that nice. Keep the pics coming!
