The shop is going to charge me $ 240 to bore out for 2 over, which makes it hard to buy as my bore's look good now.

$240 just to bore it is way too much. Should be closer to 100-150. Shop around

So, on a 94 block... These parts plus $165 bore job plus a new head gasket = built motor? New bearings? I've already got all new seals and a timing belt for my motor, but this would make for a cheap-*** upgrade while its all almost apart anyway. Many miles on it?

You need to balance the engine if yOu want any sort of longevity from it.

Not necessarily, if the rods and pistons are still within spec and the crank is still good. I don't think I'm willing to spend any more money on my project right now anyway, was mostly asking hypothetically.

Not true. What is you idea of longevity? If you are buying halfway decent parts, then you shouldn't HAVE to balance it. I did with mine, but that's because I got 8lbs knocked off the crank and it was needed. I know plenty of people who never got their setup balanced and have never had a problem because of it.

You definitely want new bearings, new water pump, and hot tank your oil pump(cheap for machine shop to do). Other than that you will be good to go with what you have.

Wait $450 for all of it? That is a steal, if I had the cash I would pick it up to build my spare motor just for the hell of it. Whoever gets these is getting a great deal.
