99-00 TDR/Moss MP62 hotside s/c kit w/ rebuilt & ported unit

5 Attachment(s)
I have decided to put my TDR/Moss MP62 supercharger kit up for sale with a fresh rebuilt($682.69 w/ parts & labor) & ported($199) (also had brackets powder coated-$85- by Jon Bond Performance-https://jonbondperformance.com/ - and 0 miles) MP62 unit. I bought this setup on 02-17-14 from cheezitnation697 on here for $2,060 with less than 6k miles on it and was told the only thing it needed was the two longer exhaust studs.

The setup was received and was just as described and in April I sent it to Jon Bond Performance to be ported , although Jon told me he didn't normally port units he hadn't rebuilt due to liability issues but after sending him pictures of the rotors and seeing their like new condition, he agreed to port it. Sadly it turned out to have a failing bearing so I told him to go ahead and rebuild it.

The setup is for a 99-00 but could be used on any 1.8 Miata(dummy throttle is different for NA and NB though) but I sold the power card that's came with it as well as the TDR tensioner since I was going to buy their redesigned tensioner but includes a intercooler that sat where the original intake tube resided. It will also include a used TDR 150mm crank pulley that with the stock s/c 77.5mm pulley should yield 10-12psi and a blower speed of 13,968 RPM @ 7200 RPM so you still can get a smaller s/c pulley-62.5mm would be the smallest you would want to use with the 150mm crank pulley- since the units max recommended rpm is just under 17,500 rpm

Here is a break down of what I have in the setup:

TDR/Moss MP62 hotside s/c: $2060
sold the TDR tensioner: -$93
sold the Power cards: -$259
used TDR 150mm pulley: +$110
rebuilt/ported by JBP: +$966.69
_________________________________________________
Total: $2,784.69

Price is $3000 via PayPal shipped since I will insure it for the selling price.

Installed on cheezitnation697's NB:

Okay so I checked out Track Dog Racing's site and from logical process of elimination it seems this will work with any combination of ac and ps, ac w/o ps or no ac & ps AS LONG as you by the appropriate tensioner setup and accessories to accommodate your needs. Here is the link to their revised tensioner which is $205 and now has ribbed pulleys to help with belt alignment:

TDR ps delete bracket:$49
TDR Power Steering Delete Bracket for TDR Supercharger Belt Tensioner

TDR ps and ac delete:$59(still need above bracket)

Any pics of the 150mm pulley?

Greasemonkey2000 07-23-2014 09:58 AM

No but I can take some....its a black crank pulley if a mental picture is enough. ;)

DaveStruve 07-23-2014 10:51 AM

Any details on that intercooler? What was it made for specifically. I'm looking for that exact one and haven't been able to find one anywhere.

Greasemonkey2000 07-23-2014 11:05 AM

Sorry buddy I have no details on the intercooler, contact cheezitnation697.

DaveStruve 07-23-2014 11:10 AM

Thanks for the info. If for some reason you decide to part it out let me know.

Here you are sir but if the interest in the crank pulley alone is your reason for asking for pictures, then I am sorry to inform you I am not willing to part with it separately for two reasons:1)potential buyer may want it, 2)if I can't sell the kit then I will want the pulley :)

Roger that. Really looking for 6 rib out in front anyway. Thanks for the pics though. GLWS.

Greasemonkey2000 07-24-2014 10:42 PM

No problem. I believe only Fast Forward Superchargers makes the 6 rib crank pulley. :)

Greasemonkey2000 07-28-2014 06:14 PM

Trying to get pictures of the newly powder coated items and the port work. Also it comes with a standard 6 month unlimited mileage warranty but an additional 2 year warranty can be purchased for $200. Supercharger has a metal serial number tag installed on the unit so name changes or if the unit was resold multiple times would not void warranty. :)

How much for the crank pulley shipped to 92867

Greasemonkey2000 07-30-2014 02:29 PM

See post #10. :)

Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Greasemonkey2000 07-30-2014 04:26 PM

Well ladies and gentleman, it will be shipped out today to me so if anyone is serious you might want to start getting your coins together because the plan is to get the car tuned ASAP on the MS3(which still may be a few months, unless the MS sells before then) and then if the s/c hasn't sold I will install it on mine because I am not willing to lose money on this considering it is a great deal IMO. :)

As you can see it was opened up substantially.

Look at those like new rotor surfaces!

I am having second thoughts about selling it in all honesty and I am quit conflicted so this ad may come down.

Greasemonkey2000 08-02-2014 08:03 AM

Just in case anyone was curious/unaware of why you port the discharge side, here is a simple explanation from Jon Bond Performance site:

"Porting service work for a Jackson Racing MP62 G4 series supercharger. Ports are opened wider and relief work is completed to allow the rear section to discharge easier. Entrance section is opened up to the maximum amount.

Performance gained can vary by model. Benefits will include better airflow, cooler boost temperature, and less air being trapped at the rear during the compression cycle."

Also Jon said it would probably pick up about 1-1.5psi at the charger. Porting is more or less a way to increase efficiency and as a bonus, or minus in some peoples eyes, it makes the blower sound the much more pronounced. In fact Gary with TDR said that people at track events say his ported s/c NB sounds like a F1 car when going by at full throttle. ;)

Greasemonkey2000 08-02-2014 03:36 PM

Have had many inquires and just to be clear the price is firm, which I still believe is a great deal but even at the above price I will lose money once its shipped since it will be over $150 shipped since I will insure it for the amount of $2800.
