I cant verify a spare tire will fit. If you gave me the dimension of the tire I could tell you if that space is going to work or not.

Could you be more specific on a different style

"Dimensions" are 110/75r14 - but I know that won't help you much. I was simply banking on you having either specifically designed it to fit the spare tire, or else you not specifically designing it to fit the spare tire. In this case, it seems like you didn't design it for that spare tire location.

 

I'm just looking for something that would be mounted on a straight up and down plane, instead of the weird angle the miata trunk necessitates.

So really, what you've got there but without the angled outlet at the bottom. That little piece wouldn't need to be angled.
