Just an update on the mod I did to mine to work with the turbo return line earlier in this thread... It is working fantastically! I would recommend anyone planning on doing that mod to use jb weld on the threads of the barb for a perfect seal. Mine leaked a little with rtv, but after cleaning it off and letting the jb weld cure for 24 hours before use it has been perfect.
This is an awesome product that saved me a lot of headache from the oem parts. |

Just following up from a few pages back about AC and this inlet. I have a '96 with factory AC and a PS delete. This inlet fits with the AC bracket no problem, but interferes with the PS delete bracket, and would likely interfere with a PS pump too. I spaced the bracket off the engine about 20mm and now it clears with plenty of space. See some photos of my mock-up below. If needed, shorter spacers could be used if the inlet and the brackets were notched or ground down a bit.

Thanks for the update. We've had some folks ask about this and in my ignorance and lack of an engine equipped like this I've said no.
I really appreciate you sharing this information with all. :bigtu: |
Has anyone tried this with AC and PS on an NB? I see the AC bracket clears and there is an interference with the PS delete tensioner but I'm wondering about the PS pump and pulley. Thanks!

Was worried about it being upside down being from the US but was a really good bit of kit. thanks Thebandit

Excellent installation! I hadn't seen as many folks who didn't crossover through the turbo before the heater core. :bigtu:

Very interesting thread. I have been putting ideas together for my Turbo NB2 and I like the ideas that have been discussed in this thread. Specifically, I'm particularly interested in routing the heater return through the turbo.

Many years ago, before my first turbo kit (before this forum), I had cooling issues. My first fix was to place a ~.250 restricter in the heater core line. Eventually I changed the radiator, but the restricter remained until I redid all the hoses with the V6. This car was my daily for many years and heater/defroster function was not affected.
