Default CHEAP Abused MazdaSpeed 4.10 Torsen Diff 200 Picked up, 290 Shipped!

I have for sale a 4.10 Mazdaspeed Torsen Diff for sale. It includes a RX7 differential housing (the RX7 housing is stronger and bolt right into a miata no problem) installed onto the diff. These housings don't break as easily as a miata housing. A minor fender-bender or severe wheel hop can break a miata housing. The RX7 housing does not have the "notch" cut into it that all miata diff housings which is where miata diff housings break. This housing alone usually cost 100-150 bucks or so.

The MSM Torsen is stronger than a regular torsen, and uses larger/stronger MSM axles as well.

THIS DIFF HAS BEEN ABUSED!!!

I have raced with this diff. A lot. It has seen 500whp, launch control launches, flat shift, power shifting, wheel hop, drag strip launches on a prep'd track, clutch dumps at 5K on drag radials, 2nd gear burnouts, trans brake launches. You name it, I've done it.

Well, the only thing I have not done is manage to break it. It is still in my car but I'll probably be removing it this weekend or after someone buys it. This diff has served me well, and frankly my opinion of the MSM diff is that it's bombproof. I twisted off 2 MSM axles racing with this diff and the diff has never missed a beat. I've always run Royal Purple GL5 oil in it. No leaks, no noises, works fine. Axle seals are about 2 years old from Mazda.

Given the abuse it's seen, the diff is sold AS-IS/no warranty/for parts. Priced accordingly.

This diff is yours for 350 bucks picked up! If you need it shipped, 480 shipped CONUS! Local pickup will be on the North side of Houston, TX.

You will need some MSM axles to run this diff. I don't have any for sale, you'll have to find some off ebay or a miata vendor.

Here's a bunch of videos of me abusing this diff. This is like 2% of what this diff has been through.

For anyone interested in this that doesn't have axles, advanced auto seems to think that this axle fits the MSM.

Rock auto seems to think that this fits:

Edit: Advanced says that axle is compatible with the 2000 miata as well... so probably wrong...

None of those axles are MSM axles, I checked a while back. You will need actual MSM axles, Mazda sells new ones, but picking up a pair off ebay used or from a vendor is probably your best bet.

Just noticed, there is a guy on miata.net classifieds selling a MSM diff and axles, but he said he'd sell the axles separately for 250. So, potentially cheap MSM axles to go with this diff. Only mention this because MSM axles can be hard to find and 250 is a pretty good deal for MSM axles.

4 month bump! I forgot about this. Diff is still available. I drained oil out of it today, it was clean.

I'm shocked no one bought this yet. Great donor if you want to swap 3.6 gears into your MSM.

Yeah. Had plenty of interest, no buyers yet. I think I should have lied and given it the generic "used, good condition" instead of being honest about how the diff was used, probably would have sold a lot sooner, and for more money.

The RX7 Differential housing is sold!

The MSM diff is still available, but it's just the gears/LSD assembly without the aluminum housing.

No dude, this is one of the best for sale threads I've ever seen! If I was in the market I would buy it. Props for being upfront, if anything you've just provided proof that it's a performer.

Thanks! Still available, I sold and shipped the RX7 diff cover today, but the MSM torsen is still available. It's wrapped up to keep it clean and stored for now until it sells.

EDIT: It is 250 picked up, or 350 shipped. If buyer wants it shipped, I will agree to 350 paid, I ship it, and if shipping is under 100 bucks, I'll refund you the difference in shipping. I mention this as one person who messaged me mentioned that the shipping cost was high. The last MSM diff I shipped cost me 125 to ship, thus why I had this one at 120 for shipping before. But without the housing it should be cheaper to ship now.

Stop tempting me! Without the housing I bet it may fit in the largest USPS flat rate box, which will ship flat rate up to 70lbs.... Might be heavier though.

A large flat rate box is 12x12x5.5 interior dimensions. The only way you're getting a diff in there is if Pat does another half-dozen 500hp launches through it and shatters it into a million pieces first.

Buy it! Buy it! Buy it!

Did that help?

This. In its current form (a usable assembly) it will not fit into a large flat rate box. However if you would like to only pay for flat rate shipping, I can make it fit into that box via destructive disassembly.

Dang, I want it but need the axles and it doesn't fit my budget at the moment. I am saving for something special. But I might jump on this soon, if no one else does.
I know I am already about a tenth of a second away from breaking this kind of stuff.
