Cheap Random Electronics Stuffs, NOT MIATA RELATED

No miata parts here, so if you want to hit BACK now, do it.

Listed below is simply misc items I ran into while going through old boxes. I though I'd give ya'll a crack at it before trying ebay. All priced CHEAP to get rid of it.

1> Linksys Wireless Router WRT54G
No version information listed, so assumed version 1. It has more lights on it than my WRT54G-V6 that I am currently using. I understand some of these older models are easier to modify, so this could be used to try out DD-WRT or whatever new program the cool kids are using. No power adapter was in the box, so I am unable to check for functionality. Therefor, it's sold cheap & as-is. Sale includes router and 2 antennas. $5 + actual shipping.

2> Power and Data Cables for Treo600
Anyone here have a Treo600?(Qty 2) Genuine Palm (Motorolla) brand home chargers
(Qty 1) Verizon brand car charger (could not find Palm brand locally)
(Qty 1) Palm Hotsync cable
I got these extra chargers when I had a Palm Treo600. My Treo600 had an internal failure, and the replacement phone was a Treo650. The 650's ports are totally incompatible with the 600. So not much use on this stuff. I probably paid $150 for it all.
$10 + actual shipping for the lot

3> DirecTV HD Sat Decoders, RCA Model DTC-100
These things were the bomb when I got em. DirecTV HD receivers, also decode over the air HD. Will not decode the new MPEG4 stuff. Will work as OTA HD tuner w/o activating them. These were unusual because they had VGA outputs. I have 4 total boxes and 2 total VGA-->Component converters (the other 2 were hooked to a projector and a plasma w/ VGA).
Not as fancy as the new stuff, but cheap. No cables or anything included. Some have access cards, but none are activated.
$20/ea + actual shipping for the 2 w/ omponent converters
$10/ea + actual shipping for the 2 w/o converters (composite, S, or VGA out only)

4> FujiFilm FinePix 2300 Digi Cam
Digital Camera, runs on AA batteries, fair sized LCD screen on rear, front claims 2.1 megapixels. Includes 2 SanDisk brand SmartMedia cards (1x8MB, 1x128MB), camera, and wriststrap. Not used in a few years. No idea if any pictures are on the SM cards, and if so what they contain.
So check before handing them to the kiddies, as they could contain pictures of my 'friends'.

$5 + actual shipping

Will take pics of anything, if anyone has interest. Paypal OK.

And also I have a pretty good stock pile of old home theater equipment. Some of it is items I've outgrown, some of it is old equipment removed from clients' houses. Speakers, amps, tuners, etc; most of it pretty nice stuff. If there is interest I can list some of it.

Any old TVs? I'm getting sick of my teeny-tiny tube

Ben 08-24-2007 08:12 PM

Had you asked last week, you could have had a 46" Toshiba HD table top rptv for ~$500.

A buddy of mine is talking about trading his 36" Toshiba HD tube TV for a 40" LCD. It's a good set, but it's a big honkin 300lb 4:3 tube, which was like $2000 when it was the rage 5-6 years ago. I'll ask him what he wants for it, if you have room for something like that. I can't see it being more than a few hundred bucks.

Might fit...worth asking what e wants for it.

I'm looking for a good set of speakers. Maybe 4 remote speakers and a center speaker.

Loki047 08-24-2007 08:31 PM

I need amps/preamps all that shit. Hook me up ben.

Ben 08-24-2007 08:54 PM

Eric
I think I have a set of 5 Jamo A3 surround speakers--4 sats + 1 center. Silver w/ black grills and wall brackets. Kind of low-end stuff for Jamo, it's like their 'value line' if you will. Nothing special, but not crap. Very small and have decent output for satellite speakers. I could probably let them go for like $125 for the set.

Loki
Stereo or surround? If you're looking for surround I have a Parasound 5 channel amp I don't have a good place for since I moved to my new house, since I no longer have a dedicated theater room here. I was planning on saving it for my next house, but suppose I could let it go. It's very good, but is also expensive and heavy. And it will be expensive to ship.
Might be a trade for Belfab rods kind of thing. Maybe. I'm not sure I want to sell it yet. If I did, I'd have to replace it with a Halo amp, which is mad expensive.
Also have 2 matching Parasound AM/FM tuners, as well as a silver Halo tuner.

UrbanSoot 08-24-2007 09:10 PM

ben, i would take those speakers if eric doesnt.

Loki047 08-24-2007 09:23 PM

Damn you urban,

ben how much for the speakers and the amp?

Ben 08-24-2007 11:19 PM

:gtfo:
those speakers don't need a parasound amp man.

Loki047 08-24-2007 11:22 PM

well i was just looking for a cheapish setup with some quality. If i get that amp what speaers do you recommend?

And what model is that amp?

Ben 08-24-2007 11:30 PM

My memory says HCA-855, Real 85x5 all channels driven. I used it to ROCK a set of Snell XA's that didn't do well off a "130" wpc receiver, and then later I used it with a Parasound pre/pro and a set of Bostons.

Speakers options are numerous.... Depends on the room, your goals, your listening tastes, budget... and possibly wife/gf/decorator influence.

Loki047 08-24-2007 11:43 PM

Ben, Im really interested in this but you have to walk me through a setup around this amp that i can upgrade later.

Do i have to have a preamp for this?

Ben 08-25-2007 12:01 AM

Yeah you'd need a preamp with surround processor.
Starting with an amp and building around it is probably not your best option at this time. I'd suggest you grab up a home theater receiver and/or speakers first. Then you could always add an amp to the receiver if you felt the need. And then later, you could replace the receiver with a real pre/pro.

Loki047 08-25-2007 12:06 AM

alright im out than ,, damn cause thats a good deal

Ben 08-25-2007 12:14 AM

I'd say start out with something like this:
http://www.usa.denon.com/ProductDetails/3526.asp
which is going to be advanced and powerful enough for you to use for many years to come.

Loki047 08-25-2007 12:19 AM

anychance your a resaler for them? My gf would kill me if i spend 1200 just for ther reciever

Ben 08-25-2007 12:29 AM

yeah I'm personally 'Certified Denon CI'. I have a little certificate and everything.

Denon's saying that they'll be available "end of this month or beginning of next" which means I should have my hands on one by late September or early November. There's a little clearance deal on the '7' model but it's worthwhile to spend the little extra on the new '8' model.

It's always easier to ask to be forgiven, than it is for permission.

I can get Marantz too. But I stopped using them due to having lots of problems with equipment that was faulty out of the box, so I don't recommend them anymore.

I was just feeling for a price, but damn, that's a good deal. IDK if you can wait around, but I'm trying to sell the Brainstorm Performance headlights that were on my car. As soon as they go, I'd have some funds freed up for those. If you can't wait for that, I completely understand.
