crxican: clear your fucking pm's... i just tried to pm you...

here is the gyst of what i sent...

i have the prototype distribution block and can install that shit for you for the rear, assuming that the hard lines and shit are not fucked....

i'm in socal about 1 hour east of LA... call me, and i can get that shit out to you tomorrow...
edit: as in i will personally deliver that shit...

but this shit isn't free... if the dist block needs to be replaced because of improper installation, you will have to pay for another block... that will be 20 for a new block, and 20 for me to help cover my gas and time... so 40 together... or i can just drop off the block to you, and you can try again for 20...

if the distribution block is bad, and none of the threads are fucked or cross threaded, and just doesn't hold a seal, i'll replace that shit for free...

what?!?! you mean you actually want your car to stop when you push the brakes?!?!?! lol... after i posted the comment about the teflon... no one responded, so i felt i needed to clarify... just in case...

if you guys peak inside the block, you will notice that everything is machined to fit the end of the hard lines perfectly thus allowing a solid seal...

I wasn't doubting. I actually did look inside the block when I received them last week. Hence my review stating that these were top-quality. Thanks for taking the time to post the photos though. I hope that nobody messes this up.... would be a nightmare.

Anyway, I'll post something helpful up after I get it all installed. Maybe even some pics for ppl who don't know what goes where...

no prob... I stand behind the lines... thats why i told crxican, if it is an issue with the distribution block then by all means, i will replace for free... if he fucked it up during installation... thats on him....

if you damage a fitting on a hardline... that would suck on so many different levels... not only is the hard line for the rears a bitch to replace, but the hardline that runs from the front to the rear is also a bear to tackle...

once you get everything installed, let me know what you think!

ok, i think i know where crxican fucked up.... i was looking at it and trying to think of all the ways you can fuck this up....

the rear passenger brake line screws directly into the nipple on the distribution block, and you will not use the adaptor...

essentially everyone got an extra adaptor to do with what they want... the reason why we did it this way is because we ordered the lines from 1 manufacturer, and ordered the distribution blocks from a second manufacturer...

so we had to get all the front lines the same, and all the rear lines the same....

so when installing the brake lines, you will notice that the fronts and rear driver side has a bracket that has a hex cut out where the adaptor piece will fit.....

the rear passenger side has no such piece...

if you tried to screw the adaptor piece into the holes in the block, you may or may not have damaged, the block is machined from steel with a finish on it, it is damn near impossible to fuck up... but if it is damaged on the inside, it might not seal properly...

below are some pictures for clarification...

EDit: hey guys if any of you have been struggling with the rear distribution block, my apologies for not clarifying that there is an extra adatper...
i thought it would be self evident, when looking at the parts and how everything fits together...

edit 2: also please be sure to make the orientation of the lines the same as the stock lines... for example, the line should have a slight loop when installed
on the front lines the loop should be pointing forward.... this is because if they point backwards the lines will rub on the tires when turning...

Thanks for the replies and all the pics. I installed everything as indicated. I don't work on cars often by I'm not totally brain dead. I did leave the block loose when attaching the hard lines because the distro block is larger than OEM and it was obviously putting pressure on the hard lines.

I do want to remove the distribution block today to see why it might be leaking but I'm not looking forward to being covered in brake fluid again. I cleared some of my PMs.

Also, you guys should use the proper tools... I.e. When loosening and tightening the hardlines on the distribution blocks, it is easy to strip them, you must be sure to use a flared wrench!

Some quick pics. In the pictures of the distro block I'm trying to show the shiny area inside where it looks like the hard line made contact, rubbed it. On the hard line you can see the fittings are not stripped.

Also, on the horizontal line that was leaking, the only defect I can notice is some of the finish peeling where presumably it rubbed inside the distro block as the picture indicated. Perhaps that was enough to cause the leak.

Wassup guys... I just drove out 55 miles and installed the rear passenger side brake line for crxican... As I expected there was nothing wrong with the block... The hard line running to the front of the car was not tightened enough LOL... Crxican should have no more problems he just needs to go over everything to make sure it's tight and then bleed the whole system!

If any of u have any questions don't hesitate to post up!! Like I said before I satnd behind these lines!!!

Amazing customer service, thanks again James. I didn't mean to imply that the block was faulty. I asked if anyone else had installed it yet to see if there was something I was doing wrong. I guess my girly arms couldn't handle getting things tight enough.

Just finished up bleeding the brakes. No leak from the block. There's just one banjo fitting that refuses to submit so I gave it some more torque. Gonna eat some food then go for a test drive. I'll try not to aim for children just in case. Might end up with another round of bleeding the brakes. Had major air come out when I did the front passenger side.

Had to re-bleed, had a helper the second time. Yet another learning experience. They feel better this time. After pumping and bleeding you kind of forget what the pedal used to feel like.

I'm having a little trouble with the adapter. It seems the bolt side of the adapter is 18mm and the old one is 17mm. Because of this, I can't seem to get the adapter through the bracket enough to get the retaining clip on. Is this an issue with other people? Do I just force it? Can I get a picture of the back side of the bracket?

Hey Tony, did you just get the complete set or just the clutch line?
the clutch line adaptor is a little smaller than the brake line adaptors... it should look rounded in comparison to the brake line adaptors...

definitely don't force it, if it is the rounded adaptor try rotating it to see if you can get it to fit... i personally checked all of them to make sure that they fit.... if you can post up a picture of your adaptor piece i can tell you if it is the right one or not...

I had trouble with the retaining clip on the clutch line bracket as well. I hit it with a wrench to get it to go in all the way. Clearly brute force isn't always ideal but there's no way it was going back on easily.

the clip is a bit of a bitch... instead of smacking it, i recommend tapping it into place with the back end of a screw driver... same with the brackets on the brakelines.... no smashums please... lol...

Just completed the install. The parts are not exactly spec at the mounting points to the chassis for the brake lines, but they do fit. It took about an hour to get brake lines in and another 30 min to bleed. I have not yet done the clutch line.

hmm.... thats interesting, we had no problems installing them in the cars that we fitted the prototypes too... and even looking at crxican's install, they seemed to be good... granted... they are snug... but we thought better snug then loose?

edit: sorry for the late reply... got the message on my phone, and am pissing off my girlfriend by trying to get back to you before i pay attention to her... lol...

edit 2: can you send me some picts? superslow, if it is an issue with the hardware... i can send you fresh ones... (albeit you already installed and bled your system...)

It all works fine. I can try to snap some pics, but basically, it all fits, just not as tight as OEM on the hex and tighter than OEM on the hard lines. Don't worry, it all works.

I got mine installed friday, seemed to fit ok. I did have the same issue as superslow where I had to push the hardline back a bit to get the spring clip to lock in place.
