Default Carbing/Okuyama 3pt Aluminum STB

This is the Carbing 3pt, which ties into the firewall with a support bracket behind and under it, in new condition.

It has never been on a car, and is deceptively light. If needed I can install and test to give impressions, but there are plenty of reviews on m.net. I can't guarantee fitment since all of our turbo setups are different, but if time allows I can take measurements, or mock-up pics.

These are generally regarded as the BEST Miata shock tower brace on the market, and they can be hard to find. I waited MONTHS for one, finally found one, drove 5hrs to pick it up, but now can't justify putting it on the car when I need to take care of other things to make it more dependable.

These guys have them though:

http://www.directtuning.com/store/pc...-127-carb.aspx

Garage Spec lists them as well, but they don't have the proper pics, so no telling what you're getting.

Anyhow, this one is yours, shipped, for $275 obo

Barbie Jeep not for sale

TERMS:
Please read!

Please PM me if you are interested. Feel free to post any questions, or express interest publicly if you wish, but I will respond to PMs first. I will update status of deals in the thread when I am able.

I will try and give buyers reasonable time to submit payment once a dealed is agreed to, in completion, by both parties. I will run for the hills screaming and sell to someone else if I feel that you may flake, change your mind, just aren't sure what you want, or continue to stall. If a deal is reached with another party during this time I will do my best to notify you immediately.

Shipping assumes lower 48, continental US.

Absolutely no returns or refunds. Insurance above standard carrier coverage (eg: UPS covers $100 value) is on your dime.

I reserve the right to refuse sale to anyone based on feedback, correspondence (including deal planning), or my preference of who to deal with in the instance of multiple interested parties. Also, once the part has been paid for the part is considered sold, regardless of what type of deal we were working on. Part WILL NOT be marked as sold until it is actually paid for.

I also reserve the right to remove item from sale as I wish, should I not need to liquidate it anymore.

Please remember that we are all here due to our interest in our cars and this speed addiction we have. I am not out to profit, and this is a private party transaction with no obligations besides shipping the part to address provided once payment is received. None of this can be taken as a contractual obligation to complete a sale in any set manner.

Also, please no thread-crapping, and keep any issues to PMs. I will immediately report posts that damage my credibility or otherwise harm my FS thread. I will also refuse to do business with you regardless of how much you pester me about wanting the part.

I am open to offers, but generally ignore lowballs, or any offer that brings to price paid near 200% of shipping costs.

Feel free to review my iTrader feedback here, as well as my eBay feedback under the same user name. I have been scammed myself, and I assure you I conduct business properly.

Thanks for looking.

Barbie Jeep, I wants.

Why not make the disclaimer longer? It really entertains. In the meantime, you may want to proofread it a smidge.

Someone is interested, but their offer was lower than I was willing to go.

I countered their offer...waiting to hear back.

Don't quote me on this...but I'm pretty sure it fits all years.

Mine is an NA though ('92) so I can mock it up for you...

I know what it is to see parts you don't have the money for. Usually spurs me to pull one thing off an sell so I can put something else on. It's okay to be wishy-washy and eccentric with your hobbies right?

O no, I got the money, a 100 times over, but I've just spent so much money on my car lately my main squeeze would **** a brick if she came home to see this on the steps Thats why I need to mull it over (That and I am about to pick up a Canon T2i)....to see how can I sneak it by, lol. Can you mock it up just to check? I really am interested. I've wanted this bar for a LONG time.

Oh, now I understand. I solved this mostly by separating build budget from family budget, and the car is almost self supporting, with an occasional infusion on Christmas, birthdays, or when a regular maintenance item is needed. Recently I've actually backed out quite a bit of money from this build budget and put it back in the family pile. Bought a kayak to take my daughter out in, a new fridge my wife wanted, and put a little in savings.

It's hard to enjoy something if your SO is unhappy with you about it, so I try to keep her happy.

Not a problem at all. I shoulda just left it in the trunk, I've got my 14mm socket with me and could walk out there now. I won't be home for about 3 hrs though. Will let you know. I bought it convinced it would fit mine though.

Me too.

Shame to see it go, but peace in your marriage is worth almost any sacrifice...almost.

Does it have the BMC stopper on it? Seems that some Carbings do come with it and some don't and I couldn't tell from the picture.

Yeah, I've seen 3 versions from Carbing: without, wrong side, or correct side. The correct side ones are very rarely found. Carbing also has the two point brace, seems they can be easily ordered with the stopper on the correct side for US Miatas.

This one does not have the brake master cylinder stopper, sorry.

I will check how it lines up for a DIY BMC brace when I test-fit it tonight.

This was something I had planned on doing, and had read it was easy to add to these, but it does not have a dedicated bracket or the adjustable hardware.

Ok guys.

Everything that I've found says that the NB bars fit on NAs no problem.

Either way, the link I provided is similar, for an NB, but this came from a fellow NA owner that didn't get the chance to install it before his son wrecked the car (someone pulled out in front of him).

I will verify tonight on mine, as well as checking turbo and heatshield clearance.

I have a 10-AE bar on my 91 if that's even closely relevant!

They're actually pretty much the same design, just different construction, and not as pretty.

Does the firewall bracket connect on the vertical and horizontal parts behind the firewall on those?

Feel free to provide input...this is usually such a cloudy debate, but I'm pretty sure the real 3pts are in a different catergory.

Fitment pics on their way, spent time with me famiry last night...priorities you know.

Firewall butressing brace. 2 fasteners go through the firewall, sandwiching it between the aluminum box up front, and this brace in the back. 3 fastener holes for the bottom mounting points on the chassis shelf.

Nice little touch, window for chassis VIN.

The bar does have "NB" engraved on it on the passenger side shock tower mounting points, but I easily got it on. Had to slightly move MC vacuum line, and just barely one of the brake lines without actually "bending" them. I'd recommend wrapping in heater hose if you don't actually bend the lines out of the way.

Installation will go easier if you remove the coolant overflow tank, and your airfilter if located where mine is. I got it in there without, but kinda wish I'd just undone the 3 10mm bolts on the overflow...

I tried not to ding it up, but I can no longer claim it's never been bolted to a car. I'd prefer the buyer have a very good idea on fitment though.

Also, I had a DevilsOwn pump mounted to the firewall when I ordered this, and not knowing where it mounted I didn't know if they would interfere. There is plenty of room. My pump was just to the right of the wiper reservoir, and you can see the holes left for the pump mount well to the left of the aluminum box. So don't worry about space for your pump, even as cramped as mine was with reroute lines and such.

Now that it's on there I'm tempted to drill the hole in the firewall and leave it...so please send offers before tomorrow afternoon if you're serious.
