Hehe, you're backwards. EDIT: to illustrate my point more clearly Attachment 213680 on the left we have the bypass valve pictured. On the right, we have the bypass valve that is pictured in the s1 installation manual. See the difference? |
That's weird, maybe they weren't thinking when they put the kit together for the picture or it works both ways. All my sources on the internet show that pic is wrong.

Caution: Do not to install the valve backwards. The white arrow needs to facing upwards and point towards the throttle body inlet tube.
|
Hmmm, do note that there are 2 white arrows. I'd seriously throw it on my car right now and try it both ways but there's a Porsche behind it. I'm curious now.
Here's a pic I was referencing. http://www.supras.com/sogidb/techcen...es/9653bov.gif But then I found this.. http://www.thedodgegarage.com/turbo/bov_6.jpg I want to go try it now and find out. :( |
Maybe tomorrow Stephanie will see that i crapped on her thread and chime in with a definite answer. Sorry Stephanie!
|
Ditto! :P
|
fuck. my S kit came in last week. that's a great deal

The bosch valve can be used either way. The way it is installed on Corky's car is correct but it will work the other way. Some people use it the other way because it will supposedly hold more boost that way. Whereas at higher boost levels they tend to leak. Quit your pissing and moaning, if you're not buying then :gtfo:

If yours is backwards of what Corky's looks like then you might want to try it the other way, it might just work better. 5 minutes and two hoseclamps later you could have a better working BOV.

Sorry in advance for the thread jack but, Stephanie do you guys sell that air box and heat shield seperately. I couldnt find them on the site.
Thanks! __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |
They work better when oriented as the one in Wes' photo from the instruction manual. The pressurized charge air is thus pushing against the sealed base of the valve rather than the side of it (which would offer it the chance to scoot sideways on its seat and likely reduce the life of the diaphragm).
