For sale my second EFR turbo. A 6258. I originally bought it from Bryce, blew it up promptly, and got it replaced. So what you get is the replacement turbo - which is brand new.

In box, with normal boost wastegate, regular BOV cover (plastic one) and EBC solenoid. The turbine housing also appears to have been ceramic coated - Full Race has started doing that recently, apparently.

$1400 shipped/insured. $1350 picked up. If using paypal, buyer pays fees (~$42)
To buy one from Full Race would be around $1500-1525 shipped.

EBC solenoid is still missing from the pictures - it's somewhere in the garage :)

Sure, I think I can assemble a 300rwhp turbo out of some $100 bills :hustler:

18psi 01-24-2013 02:24 PM

I'll trade you 2 GT2860RS turbos in mint condition :D

Braineack 01-24-2013 02:25 PM

put it on your chumpcar. win win for both us.

we want to turbo the GA16DE eventually, but it will be a tiny turbo.

Braineack 01-24-2013 02:32 PM

there's spare 50 trim wheel included in the deal. so you can make it a super 60 or 50 trim!!!!

soviet 01-24-2013 07:21 PM

Pictures added. Spend your tax returns on a sweet, sweet turbo! This thing is better investment than just about anything in a turbo setup. It compensates for EVERYTHING ELSE.

gorillazfan1023 01-24-2013 09:35 PM

FWIW I got quoted me almost (edit just checked) $1600 for everything from full race (turbo, vband flange, clamp, and ebc stuff). Definitely a good deal

soviet 01-25-2013 11:34 AM

Yeah I'm selling it for quite a bit less than what I paid Bryce for it.
Surprised that no one is interested. TAX RETURN PEOPLE, TAX RETURN.

3rdCarMX5 01-25-2013 01:51 PM

How does the warranty work being second hand/not an authorized dealer? I'm thinking about it, but having a warranty on a $1500 turbo seems like a good idea.

+1

soviet 01-25-2013 02:16 PM

Warranty on borg warner turbos is handled by borg warner. the sellers are just middle men - you send them the turbo, they file a claim with borg warner, borg warner authorizes replacement, you get a replacement.

In my case i was not the original owner of either turbo that I blew up. I got them replaced both. I had no issues. Well, actually, I had issues with Himni, but that turbo was handled by Mike from SPSTurboStore.com once I posted it over here in the now infamous https://www.miataturbo.net/engine-pe...h-bitch-66305/ thread

THIS particular turbo was originally purchased by wittyworks from Full Race. So it blows up due to a defect, you get to deal with Full Race. They are awesome people.

As far as for warranty duration - I believe its 1 year after installation date.

3rdCarMX5 01-25-2013 02:25 PM

How did you prove date of installation?

I've got a set of 15x8 Gen2 6ULs in bronze with one trackday old 205 NT-01s in the garage... but you are on the wrong coast and I have a feeling shipping them to VA would be all kinds of suck :(

I didn't have to, they were replacing all the turbos. they were blowing up anywhere from a few days to a few months after installation, depending on boost level.

awww
I'm want them for our lemons car btw, so as awesome NT-01s are, I would prefer 205 Star Specs or Azenis

and the shittier the finish on the wheels, the merrier. so "chipped nickel" would be the best!

EO2K 01-25-2013 02:42 PM

I can stick some very gently used 225 RS3s on there for you

soviet 01-25-2013 02:45 PM

Must be >190 threadwear

Leafy 01-25-2013 03:35 PM

If the RS3s get frozen in transit they will be >190 TW. haha.

Mine live in a garage so this isn't an issue. Also: leftcoast ;)

soviet 01-27-2013 01:11 PM

buy my turboz
make 25psi by 3500rpm

EO2K 01-27-2013 04:33 PM

Oh, I'd love to. I'm building a manifold anyway, why not build it for a 6258 instead of my 2560? The problem is cash. If I had my tax return in hand, I'm sure my impulsive nature would get the better of me and I'd have bought it already. :burncash:

Someone will buy and love this thing, it just probably won't be me :sadwavey: Sunday bump for you at any rate.

99mx5 01-27-2013 04:43 PM

I can't believe this is not sold yet. GLWS Leonid.

tincan 01-27-2013 05:50 PM

I would buy this with confidence. You will not have any problems and even if you did borg warner/mike SPS are both great to deal with. GLWS

wittyworks 01-27-2013 08:39 PM

Did this come with/do you have the exhaust v-band clamp or flange as well as turbo? Or just the normal turbo accessories that come with.

soviet 01-27-2013 09:48 PM

Bare turbo with basic accessories (normal wastegate, bov, ebc solenoid). No v-band flange. For a fully loaded you would need the flange and I would recommend buying the Full Race metal BOV cover.

I'm counting on tax returns ;)
I know that's pretty much how I bought this turbo originally...

TorqueZombie 01-27-2013 11:50 PM

Damn my student status. Crap for returns. Wish I was better looking. I'd sell my body for a few weekends.

Why the metal cover?
Do you know if there's some way to tie turbo warranty date to date of purchase or install?

Want to trade for a FM manifold and lame turbo? :-) In same boat as everyone else - a month or two away from having way more cash... I think.

AbeFM 01-28-2013 12:23 AM

Wish I had a plastic one to see if it'd be a drop in on the manifold I've got.... I imagine no one's tried it?

wittyworks 01-28-2013 10:24 PM

The plastic nipple on the recirc valve reportedly snaps off pretty easily according to Full Race. They also sell the metal cover, so maybe that's why they are saying the plastic sucks :).

It should sell soon. I just bought one of the last two 6758s that I could find in the country. So anyone that wanted one of those (cursed by your own success?) would end up coming to snag this one. I literally had the PM written out to buy this before I found those last two 6758s.

soviet 01-29-2013 02:25 PM

yep, IRS starts doing refunds in 2 days

soviet 01-31-2013 10:24 PM

hobbs 02-04-2013 09:54 AM

Trade for a new 7670? :)

soviet 02-04-2013 11:07 AM

why do you want to trade it?
7670 is moar expensive

Orion ZyGarian 02-05-2013 12:04 AM

Lots of people dont realize how tough it is to get an EFR turbo even still. This is a great deal for sure!

Der_Idiot 02-05-2013 12:24 AM

Interested. What did you end up making with it? If I can break 300 hp and spool faster than my 2560..

soviet 02-05-2013 07:03 PM

I made 318whp on a crappy tune when the car had teething problems. That could have been 350whp with better tuning because TQ was at 290ft/lbs.

I'm pretty confident you can make 400whp on this thing if you actually tried.

xcoldricex 02-10-2013 04:45 PM

if abe can convert his 1.6 ramhorn manifold to fit this, i'll probably pick it up, not sure if there's room down there though for the length - looks like he pushed the flange towards the front for 99mx5's manifold (but it's top mounted)

soviet 02-11-2013 09:21 AM

Abe can make anything fit.

Since you did like my offer of an AR-15, I guess I can just use the rifle and acquire the EFR for free.
