Garrett GT2560R (GT28R) Turbo

While I was not planning on selling it, for the right price, I will go different direction. Thus, this is a GT 2560R gently used. This has been used on most of the Flyin Miata/Begi kits. It has all the oil and water lines plus fittings other than the oil return line.

Price is $500 shipped.

See picture with the manifold. I have more if you send me an e-mail.

Just a link to the ATP page on the turbo and a comment asking the threadcrapper where he bought his stolen turbo for $500.

i deleted said thread crapping, to start a clean thread, but, alas, it's still gone askew.

You could have just edited my post that included the link to ATP showing that a GT2560 = GT28r. :) I was trying to decrapify the crap.

No biggie.

Frank

keinayo 03-27-2007 01:37 PM

Thanks Frank! Did not realize someone tried to crap my Thread. Turbo and manifold are still for sale.

miatamania 03-27-2007 01:59 PM

somebody want to buy a GT2554r so I can buy this one? :)

krayzrac3r 03-27-2007 03:14 PM

is this too big of a turbo for a 1.6? Just curious. Any idea on the lag?

cjernigan 03-27-2007 03:19 PM

I don't have experience with one myself but I've been told they spool very fast, even on a 1.6. I'm sure they're making boost around 2300 with the right manifold. Could also be faster than that.

I had this turbo on my 1.6, along with a *modified* RM 2.5" downpipe. It started to make boost pretty early but reached 12psi in the mid-upper 3000 rpm's. IMO a very fun turbo on a 1.6 but it is "peaky". To keep boost in between a 1-2 shift I had to either rev it real high or shift really fast. no biggie.

* If anyone buys this turbo and is gonna install it on a GReddy manifold, I have a RM 2.5" downpipe *modified* to fit as well as hard-line coolant lines. *

* If anyone buys this turbo and wants a big ugly tubular stainless manifold and 3" stainless downpipe, I have that too. *

If no one buys this turbo soon i'll buy it and sell it along with one of the above combos.

This turbo also works great on 2.2l subarus ;)

This looks to be a T25 flange. Are you saying it is a T3?

keinayo 03-27-2007 08:31 PM

Sale pending. It is a T25.

smallblockman69 03-27-2007 10:35 PM

any thoughts on the big 16g i have seen some kits with those on ebay for around 1g. back in the day all the DSM kids would get their panties in a wad over that turbo

miatamania 03-27-2007 10:36 PM

the kits aren't exactly what I would call trustworthy...but I think a few people run the 16 turbo?

PaKMaN 03-27-2007 10:43 PM

I wouldn't go with an ebay "16G" if you plan to track your shit. But they are fine for driving on the street.

cjernigan 03-27-2007 10:57 PM

Pretty sure magnamx-5 is running the 16g.

So are you saying this could be a replacement turbo for the Greddy kit? Forgive my ignorance if i read that wrong, but if so that would be an idea.

It bolts to the Greddy manifold (both are T2 style flange), but the downpipe flange is different. I bought a RM downpipe, cut of the greddy flange, and replaced it with the flange for this turbo. If you wanted this turbo to be a bolt-on replacement to the GReddy turbo, you could buy this turbo and my downpipe and get 99% of the way there.

magnamx-5 03-28-2007 08:47 AM

i run a 16g but this is so off topic i reccomend the small 16g over the big for sub 15 psi operation. and the evo3 over the big for more flow everywhere.

Flippy02 03-28-2007 06:47 PM

i got it, it was close, but i got it. WOOHOO! :yippee:
