Ben, I am interested in a complete valve train as well. I'm not in any particular a rush, but sooner is better than later. How far out are you contemplating?

My bad on being short. I didn't pay attention and saw this, neglected to see that the base price of the rods was $300.00 + shipping. Another 7$ sent, Sorry.

Gokou, when the distributor calls back, I'll see if there's any more sets available. there were only 15 2 days ago.

But no new orders from now on. If you're not already on the list, you missed it. We have to close this off somewhere.

OK, here's the deal.
There were 18 sets available a few days ago.
Three of those sets are already on their way to me.
12 sets are available right now.

So gokou and dc, if you want in, please paypal the money to me by tomorrow morning. the order is going in tomorrow mid day, and will be shipped to me monday morning.

Once these rods are gone, no more will be available until Feb or March.

This is the best I can do. It's a lot of work for me. Hope everyone is pleased. And if so, we'll look at pistons or valvetrains next.

Ben

You're probably working your *** off for this and I for one really appreciate it greatly. Working on a really tight budget here and thanks to giant leaps like this things are starting to get really close to coming together. Was really starting to think that I'd maybe get a turbo on my escort salvaged 1.8 but never get a built motor put in. Those rods are a huge step in the right direction.

I'm in for sure with pistons when the time comes, not sure about valve train though.

Thanks again, mang!

Thanks fellas. I think the best next move is pistons. Just makes sense to me to finish out the block before touching the head. Then we'll get into the head. Might also look into those beautiful water pumps I saw. Might waffle a bit on the pistons to see if the stroker crank becomes a reality. Let me know what you guys want.

I'm paying the invoice for the remaining rods order. They ship to me tomorrow.

Ben

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm not really interested in stroking the motor. Extra cost involved for the power gain just isn't something I can justify. Have you seen anything about pistons yet? Like specifics of C/R and such? Still trying to decide if I want to leave the motor at 9:1 or drop it for a little extra pressure.

Was considering leaving it at 9:1 so it doesn't totally murder my off idle power. Granted it was a totally different motor, but my turbo 2.3 had around 8:1 compression and was a total dog off boost, but when 3000 rolled around was a different story.

DC, I was indeed able to slide your order in.

The order is finalized. The group buy is closed. If you missed out, you'll probably be waiting for a while, unless maybe emilio has any in stock.

how would you do a group buy for pistons? standard vs oversize...and 1.6 vs 1.8?

there are 2 motors
each has 3 size options, standard, oversize 1, oversize 2
then there are 2 compression ratio choices
all are the same price
min order quantitiy is 2 sets, but they need not be the same

that's a bridge to cross later.

Wait on the pistons a bit... I need to sell stuff to afford them.
