This is the top of the line Hero 3 that does 4k video and includes the wifi remote. Comes with everything seen in the picture below, including the roll bar mount, external battery pack, and tripod mount.
It has worked great for me for the last year or two. I just used it for two 8-hour enduros in November without any hiccups. I honestly don't even know if this is or isn't one of the gopros that has the battery overheating issue while recording with a power cable connected, but I can guarantee that it works just fine with the charging cable plugged into the external battery pack.
