gospeed81 EPIC part-out

1 Attachment(s)
I'm stepping back from this for a while guys. I've been chasing a goal for this car that I can't achieve with the time, money and energy I've got. I'm considering leaving the car as-is, but I'd prefer to make it a good DD, and buy another toy that's less of a project. I love the project, but need to do it later when I'm not spread so thin between work, school and family.

I'm going to be tearing down a year's worth of work. I'm definitely flexible, so if you're the least bit interested in anything, PM me an offer.

Everything purposely overpriced, because let's face it, you guys are lowballers.

BEGi System4.1 IHI Turbo kit - 1.6L

-Only have two center caps, and one of those is cracked. Was going to make covers from hole plugs.

Attachment 198427

$375 + shipping

Also have added (see later pages):

Eibach 2.5" ID 200lb/in springs

Delrin diff mounts

Arkmage Intercooler w/piping

Thanks guys, will still hang out for technical discourse, but need to focus on more important things right now.

EDIT: Car is parked and everything is being uninstalled today. Let me know what you want.

TERMS:
Please read!

Please PM me if you are interested. Feel free to post any questions, or express interest publicly if you wish, but I will respond to PMs first. I will update status of deals in the thread when I am able.

I will try and give buyers reasonable time to submit payment once a dealed is agreed to, in completion, by both parties. I will run for the hills screaming and sell to someone else if I feel that you may flake, change your mind, just aren't sure what you want, or continue to stall. If a deal is reached with another party during this time I will do my best to notify you immediately.

Shipping assumes lower 48, continental US.

Absolutely no returns or refunds. Insurance above standard carrier coverage (eg: UPS covers $100 value) is on your dime.

I reserve the right to refuse sale to anyone based on feedback, correspondence (including deal planning), or my preference of who to deal with in the instance of multiple interested parties. Also, once the part has been paid for the part is considered sold, regardless of what type of deal we were working on. Part WILL NOT be marked as sold until it is actually paid for.

I also reserve the right to remove item from sale as I wish, should I not need to liquidate it anymore.

Please remember that we are all here due to our interest in our cars and this speed addiction we have. I am not out to profit, and this is a private party transaction with no obligations besides shipping the part to address provided once payment is received. None of this can be taken as a contractual obligation to complete a sale in any set manner.

Also, please no thread-crapping, and keep any issues to PMs. I will immediately report posts that damage my credibility or otherwise harm my FS thread. I will also refuse to do business with you regardless of how much you pester me about wanting the part.

I am open to offers, but generally ignore lowballs, or any offer that brings to price paid near 200% of shipping costs.

Feel free to review my iTrader feedback here, as well as my eBay feedback under the same user name. I have been scammed myself, and I assure you I conduct business properly.

Thanks for looking.

gospeed81 04-15-2010 05:07 PM

Lots of interest, and I have access to the parts I need to do the conversion back to stock quickly.

Looks like I'll be going ahead with this, so deals will be firming up over the next few days.

Let me know if you need pics that I haven't posted up.

I will mark items already off the car as "Ready to Ship".

I am also changing the way I sell, and will be giving folks dibs, and exclusive time to send firm a deal and send payment.

Thanks for all the interest.

Sorry, lots of PMs...

Let me see...the GM IAT is going with the MS right now. If I find a buyer that doesn't need it I will send it your way uber cheap, but for someone switching to MS they'll need it.

Pics of COPS added, let me pull those over. The boost gauge will probably go with the kit as well, but I have a VDO Vision mechanical water temp gauge if that's what you're referring to.

At this moment I'd like to keep the items grouped as shown.

Golddigger 04-15-2010 05:52 PM

Sorry to hear of this Damon. I hope it helps you get back to a better place letting go of this project. You got some good stuff your selling here.

bluemonkey 04-15-2010 06:24 PM

Shoot me a good deal on the MS, and intercooler+piping.

Cash+my turbo? I know you want to!

comradefks 04-15-2010 06:27 PM

Would the clone frame rails work with the FM butterfly brace?

Haha, definitely don't need another turbo in the garage, thanks though.

I have a deal pending on the MS, and will give him some time to follow through.

PMing on intercooler.

It's been said that they don't, at least not with the holes currently in them. Search "stein frame rail" for details.

Thanks.

Looking forward to the manifold/downpipe.

PMed re: LC-1 and other parts.

gospeed81 04-15-2010 11:13 PM

All PMs replied to.

Many parts spoken for. I'm trying very hard to keep everyone in line straight and respect dibs and deals. So far payment pending for the bigger packages, but a couple of guys have committed to the deals.

Also, the car is going to be parked, so parts will be flying off as fast as I can turn a wrench.

You never really loved me, proven by line 2.

Brain sold, so the car is officially dead for now until it gets a Mazda transplant spliced in.

gospeed81 04-16-2010 03:46 PM

All parts paid for yesterday have shipped.

MS, adjustable cam gear, knock box are gone.

FM mani/dp, injectors, COPS and WBO2 are spoken for.

Large scale dismantlement begins this evening.

gospeed81 04-16-2010 06:42 PM

Some items updated, prices added on what were previously "may sell":

Tein SS

Panasports

gospeed81 04-17-2010 02:02 PM

Items sold updated. Will get pics of remaining items this afternoon.

I've got someone interested in the tophats, so if anyone would like the Tein SS at ~$700 shipped please let me know as I hesitate to seperate them. At this price they'd include NA tophats.

gospeed81 04-17-2010 04:06 PM

Some pics added.

Anything still pictured, or not listed as sold is available.

gospeed81 04-17-2010 06:18 PM

Sandy, I emailed you, it's probably best to delete your address from that message now.

PMs "turn on" after a certain set of posts since the classifieds are here for the benefit of existing members, and usually not treated as an open market. This forum certainly is not stupid, we have a set of etiquette we ask members, especially new ones to abide by. It's best to read the forum and subforum rules.

You have come to the right place to turbo your car however, and I'm sure you'll like it here once you get accustomed.

gospeed81 04-18-2010 01:10 PM

Full Tein setup and SS brake lines sold.

gospeed81 04-18-2010 08:03 PM

I have added my standard disclaimer to this thread, which was left off since this was originally a "feeler" thread.

Also, due to consistent post-sale claims problems, I am no longer selling to anyone with a post count less than 100, or iTrader positive feedback lower than a 2.

The classifieds are for established and participating members, and I've observed that my fellow members are much easier to deal with than the random person that stumbles upon our forum while "googling" for an item they are looking for.

gospeed81 04-19-2010 12:25 PM

All parts spoken for an paid for were uninstalled this weekend and shipped out first thing this morning.

Someone please buy the turbo kit before I order a MS kit and try to build one and keep my car turbo'd. Please!

Also, all sold items completely deleted to avoid confusion. Thanks.

dstn2bdoa 04-19-2010 02:23 PM

First off, I love your disclaimer. Permission to cut and past it into my F/S thread?

Second. Your PWR, is it a little to big? The pic makes it look like it's forward and crooked, true? Or is it an optical illusion? VDO still available?

Will be receiving a PM based on response.

Thanks

Thanks, the disclaimer has been crafted after lots of transaction experience here, you are free to use it.

The radiator was loose as that pic was taken during a motor swap, and was the only thing I had on hand. It fits perfectly into the stock mounting points. If needed I can track down the model number, but this is the direct replacement as far as mounting and inlet/outlet are concerned.

It's been in the car for almost two years, during which time I've flushed the coolant alone 6 times, and removed and cleaned the radiator twice (both during motor swaps). The front has a slight bit of black overspray from "stealthing" my intercooler after the factor, but the PWR logo is still nice and pretty. It is in used condition, but functionally sturdy. These are pretty expensive new, but they work very well.

Rafa:

Estoy llorando por dentro.

how much for the radiator shipped to 79849? thanks

Shipping doesn't look bad, I can do the quoted price as a "shipped" price and cover packaging and carrier costs.

gospeed81 04-20-2010 09:52 AM

Some prices reduced.

I am especially open to offers on the turbo kit.

jbrown7815 04-20-2010 01:54 PM

gospeed81, what is the estimated WHP for the turbo kit?

Thanks for your time.

J

Here is a good place to check the compressor flow maps:

http://www.squirrelpf.com/turbocalc/

The IHIs are down towards the bottom. The smaller turbo currently on the kit is the first one, the 3991. The two "TBird" turbos I have are an upgrade, the 4219.

The 3991 can support about 180hp before it's below 60% efficiency, although it felt much closer to 200whp. I know I was at the edge of the map.

The 4219 should support at least 230whp, and be much more efficient (lower IATs) while doing it.

jbrown7815 04-20-2010 03:07 PM

Thanks for the reply. Nice link as well. Well I plan on picking up a Miata in the next few months. Would you reccomend the 1.8 over the 1.6? (Torsen diff, etc)

(Sorry if this is inappropriate for this thread)

Thanks again

Thanks again

Not inappropriate, always glad to help. If this car didn't have sentimental value I would have already dumped it and picked up a 94-95, preferably with a TorSen.

Replacement 1.6L motors ARE almost free, but 1.8L longblocks are getting cheap enough that it's more worth it to already have the bigger brakes, bigger motor, and something besides a glass christmas ornament for a rear end.

The best part about a 1.8L of course is the option of later adding a '99 head on your built motor. Never forget the importance of mass air flow. Your runners and valves are the number one restriction, and the '99 head is far superior.

na8psi 04-20-2010 07:41 PM

Actually, I do.

The wastegate actuator rod on the turbo kit is adjustable, so I guess I could let it go seperate, it's like a $15 part though. If you search under my name you can find an eBay vendor, AN AMERICAN ONE, that charges about 3 times what the constituent parts cost, but makes it easy on us that need one (or two) less trips to Home Depot. I started a stupid thread on it, can't remember their name.

na8psi 04-20-2010 08:01 PM

I have external wastegate setup, thats why I was curious I need one.

Thanks man. Didn't know that about the 99 heads. Very good to know. Crap, 2 days ago i didn't know anything about a Miata, so I am learning. Much learning for me to do! :hs:

gospeed81 04-20-2010 11:44 PM

I know somebody needs a cheap turbo kit.

All the hardware you need, two upgrade turbos, and BEGi quality.

18psi 04-20-2010 11:47 PM

what kind of manifold? is it the regular begi log?

gospeed81 04-21-2010 12:04 AM

Originally Posted by 18psi (Post 559647)

It's the BEGi cast IHI manifold. This whole kit is their old System 4.1 kit.

Here's pics of someone else's identical setup:

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/207452/9

Here's some pics I took before I installed:

http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?p=3644093

And I have installed pics in my build thread:

https://www.miataturbo.net/showpost....3&postcount=31

The manifold is flanged for the IHI RHB5 turbine housing. Four bolts, different from the Suby IHIs. This is the same footprint as the VJ11 turbos Mazda used in the MX-6.

18psi 04-21-2010 12:09 AM

gospeed81 04-22-2010 10:45 AM

Price dropped on turbo kit again...$850, cheaper for locals, or even less if you only want the BEGi supplied (tiny) turbo. The upgrade VJ17s would really make this kit badass though.

Somebody needs to buy this thing before I'm done with finals or I'm ordering an MSII kit.

Bryce 04-22-2010 10:48 AM

Wow, that's a deal!

gospeed81 04-23-2010 10:11 AM

Originally Posted by Bryce (Post 560602)

Yes, yes it is...and it's only getting better.

Absolute rock bottom price which I will sit on until it sells:

$800 + shipping

For that price I'll even throw in a 2.5" straight through Dynomax muffler.

Kit comes with a lot of things besides the mani, dp, turbos, intercooler and piping:

-Boost gauge (backlit same color as OEM gauges) with vacuum hose and "T" to put in at FPR vac line
-drill and tap for oil pan drain line
-SS oil feed line
-oil drain line and pan fitting
-water lines
-K&N air filter with new cleaning/oiling kit
-eBay Porsche look "turbo" badge, unused, so you can proclaim your newfound awesomeness
-plug to put in whichever IAT bung you don't use, which is removeable if you use both IAT sensor and a water injection nozzle
-all mounting hardware
-fuel pressure gauge and line for people running ARRFPRs
-some random feed lines and vac hoses
-all hardware and fasteners

Basically it gets shipped to you as it came off my car, absolutely ready to bolt on and get to boostin'. There were a lot of things I spent a week chasing down to polish off this kit like the heat shield attachment bolts and mani studs. You profit off my previous hard work.

This kit was dead nuts solid for a year and half, save one repair to downpipe that was more likely caused by me running a static 10* of timing due to a dumb mistake in MegaTune. This causes a lot of heat in the exhaust, but my local muffler guy is really good about those kind of fixes.

You NEED this. Go fast cheap.

EDIT: Roll bar and water temp gauge SOLD!

gospeed81 04-24-2010 02:18 PM

I also have some smaller items for sale:

-T25 SS oil feed line $40
-Bosch recirc BOV with two homemade flange adapter for it $35
-Delrin diff bushings $40

The first two are from a recent SamNavy thread, and the bushings are from TimBroughton

mca 04-24-2010 07:46 PM

Will the oil feed fit a GT2554?

slopokes123 04-24-2010 08:54 PM

bump for an awesome seller!
