Holset HY35 Type D aka HE341 $300 + shipping
Picked this up to see if it would work with something I wanted to make. It's not going to work so I'm putting it back out into the market.
This is an HY35 Type D which is also called an HE341 sometimes. Miles on the turbo is unknown, but it was rebuilt by the guy who I bought it from and it has absolutely no shaft play in/out or radially.
The compressor housing was painted ricer yellow, the stock wastegate system is unusable and flapper has been welded up. The exhaust flange has also been modified from what I believe was originally a v-band to now what I think is just a regular *** 3 bolt exhaust flange.
External wastegate would definitely be required.
To the best of my knowledge, these turbos flow around 55-60lb/min, are comfortable to about 35psi and I would guess could get our 1.8s to around 400rwp. If anyone thinks I'm full of ****, please inform us. These are just statistics / educated guesses that I have acquired while doing my research.
Basically just a great reliable turbo for a cheap, DIY setup that can make a lot of power.
54mm 7 blade Compressor wheel
58mm 12 blade Turbine wheel
9cm Exhaust housing
T34 Manifold flange
Looking to get what I paid, $300 plus shipping.
PDF for the turbo can be found here.

Damn, shame about the wastegate. The original outlet is/was a 4" v-band that is proprietary to Holset, it's common for people to change them to something more friendly.
Fair price if it was recently rebuilt, even though it's peanuts to rebuild these. Hell, the cartridges can be had for 250 bucks if you just want to swap the housings over.
Free bump for a good turbo.

I originally got this because of the V band connection between the turbine housing and the CHRA. I was going to see about machining out my extra MSM turbine housing and stuffing this thing in it like I did with the TD05 CHRA I'm running right now. But it's just way too big and too much material would have had to be removed to make it work.
And agreed on the wastegate. I'm not sure why anyone would have done that to this thing unless they just wanted to spend more money or wanted to be cool with their external gate. I've never heard of anyone having boost problems with these.
