+1, you'll never get 10K for that unfortunately, even though you've got more than that in it. Best way to recoup your money is to part it out, returning the car to stock. This almost always leaves you with more money in your pocket than selling it together, essentially at discount.
As it sits, maybe 6K, 7K tops. If you part it, you could get more. |
parting out is to much time and work...just want it gone...

Does anyone want to buy my car? shoot me an offer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
I bought a mariner blue that was in the process of being parted. The seller wanted 8k before he parted, I ended up getting a rust free 91, with a BEGiS3 turbo kit, hard dog roll bar, 2 sets of daisies 1 set with race tires, a set of 14x8 diamond racing wheels with Hoosiers a greddy boost control, 2 bins of spare parts for 3k. The catch he had parted out his exhaust, ecu, 1.8 torsen (it came with the 1.6 rear), and fuel injectors. I still think it was a great deal for me, and he made a lot of the difference back in the stuff he parted Point is your better off parting it.

|
sorry guys...this car is to beautiful for me to part it out...even if I dont get as much for it...i want it gone in one piece...I just want 8 gs in my hand...
|
I would have taken this in a heartbeat circa April 08'.
Shame. |
Why are you selling?
|
They reason why i am trying to sell it? Its because I am going to start my own business and need some money....
|
It's rough pumping twice the dough into the car that's worth half as much. Building and selling modded cars isn't too different from race cars.
It seems that eBay has the ability to get the most for something. A big enough audience and you might just find two (or more) people looking for exactly what you're selling. Take lots of good photos and maybe even some videos of the car in action, then set the bid at your minimum plus eBay fees. I sold my last race car that way- got what I wanted. |
Reality sucks.
It shouldn't take you more than a long afternoon to return it to stock if you've got the stock parts. Leave the shocks and coilovers on it to make it more attractive to ricer/drizzfter types and pull the rest. That's the only way to come out ahead financially for minimum effort. In order to sell that car for that price, somebody will need to pay you cash because a bank will not cut a loan for that much. The economy is in the shitter and X-mas is in 2 weeks and nobody has that kind of cash. Additionally, advertising that "you can push it up to 25psi" and "1.8 transmission" is an immediate red-flag to people who know Miata's. A stock motor would last about 3 seconds at that boost and there is no difference between 1.6 and 1.8 tranny's. It just puts a little hint of "this guys doesn't know his shit" in the back of a buyers mind. |

Disregard... my last. I see the motor listed at $6k... which makes even more sense to part it out. You can find 1.6 motors in fine shape for $300.
