JDM 60k old 1.6 and stock 1.6 transmission

Well, these are the only two things I have left of the 4cylinder stuff!

JDM 1.6 engine with around 60k miles on it. Has around 30k on it since the timing belt, waterpump, and anything else that the dealer says to change when doing a timing belt. Comes with Alt, starter, intake, power steering pump, and AC compressor. The only thing I pulled were the injectors, fuel rail, PCM water temp sensor, and oil pressure sensor. Also has near new belts on it that I put on this spring ("premiums" from whatever parts house was closest when the A/C/power steering belt broke)

450 plus actual shipping

1990 1.6 transmission and Stock shifter. Shifted fine, but had some small metal shavings on the magnetic drain plug, so 75 plus actual shipping takes it, or if you buy the engine, the transmission is free.

I also have an older NA RX7 trans sitting here I traded for GC springs with an old auto instructor. Its supposed to have the better 5th gear in it. I do not know the condition of it, but if you set the gear in automatic trans fluid for awhile and polish them, the 5th gearset should be fine. Also free with the purchase of the engine if its bought within the next week. Otherwise its being pulled apart and going for scrap aluminum.

chan1234 12-12-2009 02:13 AM

would u ship the motor to 39532?

chpmnsws6 12-12-2009 09:55 AM

I can put it on a pallet and take it to the shipper of your choice within 30 miles of 62704

Figure 50 pounds for the pallet and tiedowns, plus whatever the engine weighs.

chpmnsws6 12-12-2009 07:05 PM

I cannot believe no one has a tired 1.6 in need of a replacement!

chan1234 12-12-2009 08:04 PM

i do but i dont know how much shipping will cost or i would buy it

chpmnsws6 12-12-2009 09:23 PM

Figure 250 pounds total shipping on a half a pallet for the engine. I can deliver to Fedex Freight in Lincoln IL if you want to call them for an estimate.

chpmnsws6 12-16-2009 11:01 PM

Someone get this out of my way! I have an L33 to put where this is sittings :)

p51hellfire 12-16-2009 11:39 PM

sell the bottom end? is it SN or LN crank?

chpmnsws6 12-17-2009 08:05 AM

Where can i find out on the block? i'll sell the bottom end for 450, and will throw in everytning else free!

chpmnsws6 12-19-2009 09:56 PM

350 picked up

p51hellfire 12-19-2009 10:18 PM

well I'm only concerned with the bottom end no need for the top as I'm not building the top end, so what would you do for the bottom block? idc if it has pistons or not but, crank is a must if it is LN that is. LMK thanks

chpmnsws6 12-19-2009 10:30 PM

I cannot take apart a perfect engine.

Sorry

chpmnsws6 12-28-2009 12:55 AM

Found the receipts from Mazda for the timing belt kit, along with the water pump and a bunch of other things. Also found a receipt for a magnet drain plug. Forgot it had one since I've never seen a metal shaving on it.

chpmnsws6 01-04-2010 10:39 AM

Bump!

chpmnsws6 01-04-2010 10:40 AM

It lost its power steering pump and Alternator. 50 off the price

chpmnsws6 01-04-2010 10:41 AM

Also have a 15k old set of coil packs. Purchased new from Mazda, and have receipt for them. 50 shipped within the 48 states takes them.

Stein 01-04-2010 11:00 AM

Just an FYI on shipping costs. I just shipped my complete 99 motor from NE to TX for $165 in a crate so it really isn't that expensive.

chpmnsws6 01-04-2010 11:06 AM

Who did you use as a carrier? Thanks for the heads up!

Stein 01-04-2010 11:28 AM

Saia Motor Freight. They pick up here daily. We do have an 82% discount with them so that may affect your pricing.

They shipped a trans/axles/diff/driveshaft crated for me to TX as well for $110.

chpmnsws6 01-04-2010 01:21 PM

Wow! That is good news for any potential buyers! If they do the leg work, they can have it for the 300 local price.

tyler 01-16-2010 07:49 AM

if i wasnt moving i would totally snag this engine and rx7 tranny.....but shipping to BC would prolly cost an arm and a leg lol maybe my first born too

chpmnsws6 01-17-2010 12:15 AM

Come on down and pick it up :)

tyler 01-19-2010 04:09 AM

lol i that would make a great pic.....a miata with bc plates and an engine and tranny stuffed into the trunk/ passenger seat

chpmnsws6 01-19-2010 12:04 PM

Its way more common than you think...... Minus the BC plates haha :)

tyler 01-20-2010 12:55 PM

lol it might fit in my gfs olds alero lol.... soo what year is the RX7 tranny

tyler 01-20-2010 12:56 PM

ooo and did you know of its condition before you got it???

tyler 01-20-2010 12:57 PM

O O lol whats the difference in "jdm" engines to our lovely North american engines??? like is it lower compression or higher, more stock hp or lower, etc.

chpmnsws6 01-20-2010 01:04 PM

It has lower miles and some lettering on the valve cover that I have no clue what it means.

The trans is from around a 88 GXL, and should only be used for 5th gear once its cleaned up. It has been sitting in the elements for awhile (was going to be tore apart and everything but 5th gear was going for scrap). It was in a running car that had a TII swap before I got it.

tyler 01-20-2010 01:18 PM

lol thats it thats not tooo bad soo what it would be like a pull the gear itself and toss it into the now tranny?

-Banks- 02-06-2010 11:43 AM

how much + shipping to 02343? i just blew my motor testing my new suspension.

chpmnsws6 02-06-2010 12:48 PM

If you do the legwork for shipping, 300 and its yours. Add 250 for shipping if I have to ship it. If its less then 250, I'll send you back the difference.

IDREunos 02-15-2010 10:38 PM

so is this a ln or sn for 550 shipped i'll likely have to get this...

chpmnsws6 02-15-2010 10:52 PM

Its a LN. If it was an SN, I would of sent it to the metal scrap yard.

IDREunos 02-15-2010 10:57 PM

cool cool lemme make a phone call real quick... thats 550 shipped right?

chpmnsws6 02-15-2010 11:52 PM

As long as shipping is not over 250. If it is, I'd either need the difference or I can just return your funds. I've been hosed on shipping before with big items, and cannot do it again.

I can deliver to a dock of your choice within 30 miles of 62704. Fedex is who I recommend. If you've not shipped freight with them before, they offer a decent discount for the first transaction. Figure weight at about 230 pounds after the pallet.

IDREunos 02-16-2010 01:28 PM

Can't say I've ever shipped freight before and getting on fedex's site I'm even more clueless... Comparing rates for motors on ebay it looks like its a little over 200 to ship to me in 28443. Not sure about their rates vs what either of us could get though...

You can do whatever with the trans. Unfortunately as nice as it would be to have a spare, the shipping is already gunna be bad enough :/

chpmnsws6 02-16-2010 03:18 PM

What I can do is once the 550 is paid, I will go over to the fedex freight drop-off and attempt to ship. If it is over the 250, I can call or text you and just sit at the station until the remaining is paid. It should not be more then 250, but I am just covering all bases. What is your zipcode?

IDREunos 02-16-2010 05:44 PM

that sounds good, I'm at 28443. Trying to secure the funds, just need another 100 bucks. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll be set and I guess we can just PM numbers when I paypal you...

EDIT** you think you could ditch the AC pump and bracket after sale? It may help save a little shipping weight, and I just scrapped all my AC components anyways...

chpmnsws6 02-16-2010 09:16 PM

Already ahead of ya. That alone weighed an easy 30+ pounds!

I forgot to mention, but the side of the block is tapped and it has a hole in the side of the oil pan from the turbo setup. I can always send plugs for the holes, but just wanted to make sure you knew it was drilled already (FMII kit was on the car)

Take your time. It is sitting in the corner sealed in a bag.

gompers 02-16-2010 09:55 PM

So this has been dibb'd?

Whats the diff between the JDM motor and a USDM?

Its JDM-spec....... It has a plate on it that I have no clue what it says. Other then that, I have no clue minus being low miles and a LN

Thats actually a plus, but yes I'd need those plugged. Yeah man that SOB was heavy, mine fell on my foot when I pulled the last bolt. Thank god for steel toe boots...

Do you want a deposit or something so I can secure this?

chpmnsws6 02-17-2010 09:45 AM

That would be up to you. I don't do dibbs, but I also know how it feels to have someone sell something out from under you.

IDREunos 02-17-2010 10:27 AM

Yeah, I actually had someone else just do that for a motor locally :/ How much would work for you to hold this thing? I'm just waiting for another 100 and I'll be set for full payment... Should be done in another day or two with any luck.

IDREunos 02-17-2010 03:24 PM

Hey got your pm but I can't reply until I hit 15 posts. Got the funds too. Mind if I whore your thread when I get home so we can pm? I'm on my blackberry right now :/

chpmnsws6 02-18-2010 12:47 AM
