LS3 v8 $1000
LS3 5.3 LH6
$1,000
Ypsilanti, MI
I have for sale a LH6 out of a 06 trailblazer. I paid $1500 for it. This is the 5.3l truck version of the LS3. A bore over will get you to 5.7. It has the same 799 head casting found on the LS3, aluminum block, and this comes with all the accessories as well as the wire harness and ECU. Engine is in good shape and had 110k miles on it when I purchased it. I planned to use in a Miata project but decided to do something else instead. My loss is your gain

Nope. They can take about .005” hone, but that’s it. Stock sleeves dont allow any more. Any increase in diameter necessitates sleeves.
This article states the LH6 can do .128”. Do you have a source that contradicts that? https://www.hotrod.com/articles/max-...for-ls-blocks/

Looks like this might be right after all. I dragged an L33 (another aluminum 5.3) out of the shop, and it has very thick liners. A decent size overbore looks possible.
My understanding is that the same liners are used for the 5.3 and 5.7 blocks, and that the 5.3s are just not bored out as large, hence the 5.7 blocks not being able to be overbored
5.3 and 5.7 engines have the same sleeves. You can bore it to a 5.7, like every other 5.3 made, ever. That being said, the LH6 is less desirable then the L33, which is an underbore LS6 with genIV block improvements, that still uses 24x components. 1k is a decent price with harness/ecu.
I've done this with a friend already hence why I posted what I did. The heads untouched are not L33 heads but with some hand porting are actually better. I originally posted this at $1700, got a little interest but ultimately nobody budged . At $1000 this is a steal and a very good motor. The sleeves are the same at the ls1 and with an overbore, hand port and cam this motor will make serious power. Engine is still available and ready to be picked up. Also why the hell would I lie about this engine, what would I gain? I know every person on here knows how to use the internet and can use a magnet to check the block to see if it's aluminum. If someone doesn't want it then I'll just find another project for it, simple as that.
So admittedly I got something wrong this is a LS2 5.3 equal. My bad, sorry guys, these are the cathedral ports not a square port. I'm really not trying to deceive anyone just trying to sell the motor
