Yes Folks! This rail fits all 1.8 engines. The model was tested on a 95 and a 99 this weekend and then pickup up by the CNC owner to start producing them.

Marc, has this actually been tested on all 3 generations? I'm having an extremely tough time believing this to be true. Also, where is the snubber flange located?

I just hope you've done your homework. If not, send me one and I'll test fit on all 3 miata BPs.

 

It has been tested on a 94-97 and 99-00. The 01-04 intake is a little different, but the space we need for the rail is the same and it will fit!

Where is the snubber? Top Secret right now, but in a much better place + you have the option of using it, or not using it on either your 99-05 or even adding it on a 94-97.

I knew people would have a hard time believing this, but we knew it could be done and did it!

 

False and dangerous assumption. The 01 head casting is radically different, with the big differences in the front.

What? The pulse dampener is not "optional" in returnless cars, and the FPR is not "optional" in the return cars. And proper placement of the port is potentially critical for clearancing the head in motor/head swapped cars

Marc, I'm wishing you guys the best of luck and worlds of success. I want the product to work out, and I need one for my new motor. But I have to tell ya I'm having a real hard time believing in your product. Your claims are bold, and so far your proof is non existent.

 

The price is good, but I'm pretty pissed that you are offering this for sale with no pictures and answering questions with "Top Secret right now".

I also find the blind allegiance from most members here a bit strange because as a group, the mt.net guys are usually pretty savy when it comes to examining new products before giving the thumbs up.

 

Don't worry.. The spot we need will fit! If someone buys one with a 01-05 and it does not fit, they will get a full refund with no questions asked. We are not worried.

You right... Not a problem at all in regards to clearancing with a 99 head on an older motor. (Rail has options) I agree that I would not omit the snubber. But the option is there if someone wants to.

The proof is that we test fitted on a 94-97 and my 2000 this weekend with the model. ETD has been in busy for over 10 years and stands behind their product. I'd show you more info, but we have been screwed before we people copying us and coming to market before on one of our K-Tuned innovative products.

People can buy once the first run is complete, but I can't guarantee the $99 price tag.

 

We are not going to show you the raw aluminum model which was done on a manual mill with corrections as it is not pretty. We don't want to spin off one rail to get approval as the CNC guys will charge the same setup fee for 1 rail or 100.

We stand behind our product, and if it does not fit you will get a refund. TRUST ME this is the last rail you will EVER buy. I've been in the Miata world for years, and innovated and had so many firsts with a Miata. Most still don't make over 500hp on a 1.8 Miata and I did that 6 years ago.

 

vishnu's rail is 99-04 compatible. dont know if it fit the earlier cars.

does this rail come with any mounting hardware or lines? is that a future option?

No lines or mounting hardware. John and I have talked about lines in the future, but more concerned with getting this and a few other products to market first. I actually harassed him to get this done first.

We have merged a 94-97 together with a 99-04 and made it work. I'm quite surprised I'm getting all the slack over this. I've been known to stand behind my word for years.

Buy it at $99 now, or $129 later. You have the ETD reputation backing the product.

 

some thread in barbed fittings for rubber fuel hose would be nice as extra cost options. I'm sure the vast majority of people will run it that way. I'd rather toss in another $5 and have it shipped in 1 package than have to track them down locally--matter of convenience, but certainly no deal breaker.

You're getting a little resistance because you've made some bold claims and not offered any proof. "Trust me because I say it works even though I haven't tried all the combinations" is not proof of concept. Now I have purchased something from you before--once if not twice--with extremely positive results. I have no grudge, no hidden motive, and do not harbor or wish to spread ill-will. Your reputation is good with me. ETD's rep is good in the community. But I think you're doing yourself, the product, and ETD a disservice with this particular marketing strategy.

 

I hear ya Ben, but I personally TESTED IT on a 94-97 and a 99-00 (My own car). We are certain it will fit an 01-04. We did our homework and took measurements from a 2001 car, but could not get it in the shop on Saturday to test the model. Come on folks.. ETD did not start doing this yesterday. They are putting a lot of money to make a run of these in order to get the Intro price you wanted. Don't you think they would be certain? They don't want a bunch of scrap aluminum.

$99 for the intro. $129 if you wait.

It seems that a few different brands of fuel rails are about to hit the streets at the same time, and this is a clever way to make sure people buy this rail. ETD may not be the first to release the rail, but ETD sure as hell will be the first to take people's money. Something to think about guys.

Mkulak, it doesn't sound like you work for ETD or M-Tuned.com, so I am going to guess this is a clever way for them to get out of sponsoring the forum. They can't help if a loyal customer is talking up their great introductory price right?
