Default Megasquirt 2

Posting this for a friend of mine who bought this unit brand new, but based on advice from his installer/tuner decided to go with a Link G4+ standalone.

Asking $450US + shipping

Here is the info.

MegaSquirt-II Programmable EFI ECU System with PCB v3.0 and black case. Fully assembled.

Built by Symtech Laboratories out of Florida, USA.

Product # EMG-1-001, MS2 EMS ECU , Std 2.5bar MAP Sensor, Generic/Standard Model.

Brand New.

Comes with 6ft wiring harness, serial to USB adapter, and brand new IAT sensor,

Decided to go with another standalone computer that the tuner prefers.

Here is Ebay link if you prefer to go that route.

Efini~FC3S, I tend to agree with you.

I think it is simply a case of the tuner/installer wanting to use a standalone system that he is familiar with since he has done a ton of installation and tuning jobs using Link standalones.

I am not sure about the harness wiring since it is a universal setup.

Here is the link to the manufacturer site

http://www.symtechlabs.com/catalog/m...-ecu-p-32.html

It is that model with the 6ft harness and standard 2.5bar map sensor, USB to serial adaptor and IAT sensor.

If I knew it'd work with my 94. I'd already have sent payment.

This ad reminds me of this:
Hey guys I have a set of wheels for sale. (Gives no wheel fitment or sizing information). Sounds like Craigslist.

Here is a copy of what the wiring harness looks like and the documentation that came with the unit. Hope this helps.

According to my research, this harness should be compatible with 90-93 miata's with 1.6L, unfortunately. ):

That's not a plug and play setup. If a universal wiring harness is included, you know what needs to be done.

Reverant is correct, from the research I have done, it will work on Miatas but it will require wiring based on the ECU pinouts of the intended Miata model (90-93) or (94-97) and is not a plug and play solution.

Hope this helps.

On top of that, it's not clear whether the ECU has the correct mods for a Miata (CAS, idle valve, fan control, etc).
