Default Miata seat stand for NA/NB, turns your extra seat lying around into a practical chair

Ok so I have been workin on this for a few weeks now and I finally came up with a design that I feel is pretty good. I'm a production welder who welds at home as a hobby too and tryin to get my hobby to support itself. This stand is made of mild steel tubing. The steel is cut, drilled, welded, and painted in my garage.

The stand simply bolts onto the existing seat mounting brackets. The legs are all four cut in half and come on and off with a single bolt each. I made the legs come apart in half in order to reduce shipping costs. But it's also great cause it makes the stand almost half the size and sit real low to the ground. It is painted gloss black with name brand Rust-Oleum paint. This also includes all the mounting hardware necessary, and thick felt foot pads to keep from scratching wood floors. You will retain both the sliding and reclining features of the seat.

You can purchase one from me for $70 plus actual shipping cost. No handling charge. I'm in northern Indiana and ups shipping to the 90210 zip code is 26 bucks so it's not bad on shipping. The passenger and driver seat do have different bolt patterns. Be sure to specify which side you need. As of right now so long as you have a stand ordered and paid for by Wednesday at midnight I can build the product over the weekend and ship it the following Monday. This is to insure that I will have the materials on hand to build the stand.

I will be accepting paypal, money orders, personal checks (must clear by Wednesday) so long as you pay me it's cool, I don't care how. Just shoot me a pm to make an order. If you want give me your email address and I can send you a paypal payment request. Or you can ask for my paypall email and you can just sent the payment to me.

I'm a hard workin guy tryin to make a buck in my garage. I look forward to building a quality product for you.

I will be sending you a pm in a few days. I am about to remove my miata seats from my car and we use my rx7 seats that are going in in the garage all the time these would be perfect so they are not on the ground.

This would be the first thing I made if I ever got a welder. Might hit you up though. Any reason you went with using the sliders instead of bolting directly to the seat? It might make production easier. As far as I remember the seats themselves are the same bolt pattern underneath.

I'll double check the bolt patterns, but one of the four seat mounts are offset. I built a driver side with my extra driver seat. I looked at the passenger seat and the one that is offset seems to be on the other side. I could be wrong. I'll pull out my extra passenger seat and actually measure it and double check.

I never thought of removing the sliders. But I like em there. This way when it bolts to the stand it is still a fully functional car seat.

Looks like a great project, nice work. Where in northern Indiana are you located? I could use some welding services as well.

Well according to the ups tracking t2cougar received the stand on tuesday. I haven't heard from him yet. Maybe he's not on here much. I can only assume I have a satisfied customer since I haven't heard any complaints. I've had a few people express interest but only sold the one so far.

Price drop to $65 per stand.

The stands look great! I've been looking at making my own, but buying yours would be easier. :-)

Do you ship internationally? Specifically Norway, in Europe.

Yes, yes it would be much easier to buy mine lol. And thank you for the compliment. I try to take pride in my work. As far as international shipping goes, I've never done it before. Though if it's doable and you are willing to pay shipping I'm more than willing to do it. If you would like to pm me your shipping address I'll see what I can do about a shipping quote. I use use normally but since it's international I'll go with the shipper of your choice.

Now you just need to build mounts for gaming wheels and pedals.

I can't send PM''s yet, as I haven't reached the 15 posts required to use the function. Hit me a PM with your email and we can take it from there.

I'll gladly pay the shipping expenses, as long as they're not ridiculously expensive.

Hey Legendary, I sent you a pm. I'm not sure if you are able to read them or not.

Thank you James for the order, I've sent you a pm regarding the details.

And much thanks to T2Cougar for your kind words about my craftsmanship. Idk exactly what you meant by the xxtrampxx stamp of approval from two girls. We got lap dances going on on this thing? I hope not cause that means my work is getting more action than me lmao. I'm happy to hear you are satisfied.

I was re-reading your post and just realized you may have been referring to the bolt pattern underneath the sliders and not the sliders. The sliders are wider on the passenger than the driver. The driver is 12 15/16" center to center and passenger is 13 11/16".

I regret to inform that the two who were expecting shipping today will have to wait til tomorrow. The weather has been screwing me. The fabrication company I work for has shut down twice this year due to weather. I had to work this weekend and unable to paint Saturday as I had hoped, so I painted yesterday. Was just inspecting them and there were spots needing re-painting. Just got done re-painting them and they need a full 24 hours cure before shipping. I apologize for any inconvenience.

On a side note, I start welding class tonight where I learned to weld five years ago. I'm going to get into some tig aluminum welding.
