Opps. These are for a 1.6l right?

Braineack 09-11-2007 10:58 PM

yeah 1.6L

Ben 09-11-2007 11:07 PM

1.6 and 1.8 mounts are the same (the metal part isn't though)

cjernigan 09-11-2007 11:10 PM

What are people talking about when they say metal motor mounts? I haven't taken mine out.

jayc72 09-11-2007 11:10 PM

Thanks.

Ben 09-11-2007 11:13 PM

chad, the metal bracket thing that the rubber mount connects to. I'll take a pic of the motor sitting in my garage if you need to see it. it's car-->rubber mount-->metal bracket-->motor

Loki047 09-11-2007 11:20 PM

exactly, and as long as you have the motor your swapping it to with brackets your fine.

cjernigan 09-11-2007 11:31 PM

That's what I figured you were talking about. Just wanted to make sure i was on the same page. I'm a newb.

rappadan 09-12-2007 04:49 PM

i actually took my metal plates out so my motor would set that .0001" lower...lol Actually b/c they serve no purpose with the MMR mounts

Loki047 09-12-2007 05:23 PM

I think were talking about different things, without these theres no way to mount the moutns to the motor unless the new mounts come with mounts.... yes i know there is a better way to say taht.

Braineack 09-12-2007 08:01 PM

well there's the motor mount, and then the plate between the mount and k-member.

Or, you could call it the rectangular cup thingy if you wanted to get technical.

You can leave this out, but if a mount breaks the motor can shift around VERY drastically. I saw this cup thingy save the day once.

well between the diff mounts, full roll cage and the Spec Miata suspension, The motor mounts just fit right in with all the other rigidness of the car...
