The hardtops will be available in the USA from the first week of April

Collection from Grand Junction Colorado is available

A $500 PayPal deposit secures the hardtop and a slot on the container , this deposit comes off the hardtop price when the balance is due

I'll try again publicly, can I please get an update on my hardtop order for Grand Junction delivery? Its been 11 months since I put a deposit down and 6 months since I've heard any info on it.

Had a similar experience with an engine, unfortunately. They're more responsive on their FB page.

I have been PMing and emailing them since late September. I've heard back twice now, both replies they said they will look into it, but then I just never hear anything back. Still have no idea where the hardtop is.

Its literally been 1 year since I paid the deposit. I have no confidence it will get delivered, just going to cancel my order (ie chargeback the deposit). What a waste of time.

I also dont have a facebook account, I originally contacted them thru this forum.

+1 on having issues with my order through them.

My deposit for my engine has been in place for over a year, it was supposed to have been delivered over 9 months ago. They've only ever reached out to me once, I've had to reach out to them for information only to be sent excuses with no real timeline. Edit: I finally got a refund this morning (January 26, 2022) after bugging them some more this week.

What really bugs me is how they keep on posting more new hardtops for sale each month.

Here's my timeline:

I messaged them on here after seeing a post where they were sending a bulk shipment of motors to the US (can't seem to find that post anymore). After a little bit of back and forth on here they sent a PayPal invoice and I put down my $250 deposit to reserve an engine on January 17, 2022. The original thread was like this one where they said they'd be here by the first week of April.

On March 15, 2022 I got an email from them saying that the motors "wouldn't be ready to leave the UK by the end of April 2022" (which was already a delay from what they originally stated). They blamed normal 2022 things (Ukraine, Brexit, COVID), and said they expected a four week delay. They offered the option to have the deposit refunded or to maintain the deposit and continue waiting. I kept the deposit in place and continued waiting.

On May 31, 2022 I contacted them on Facebook and asked if they had any updates on the bulk motor shipment. They mentioned having issues with getting visas to hand deliver the parts (this may have been more about the hardtops since I expected the motors to get delivered through freight to the final destination once they got to Grand Junction). But maybe they were going to hand deliver the engines too. They said they planned to ship the engines directly through another company and that they'd have more info in a week or so.

On July 27, 2022 I contacted them again on Facebook asking for any updates. They said they didn't have any updates and that the money they paid to get the visas was never refunded to them which has made it hard for them to have the funds to work out a new way to get everything over. I said I'd keep waiting through the end of the year (the price for the motor was good, and I wasn't really in a rush anymore at that point, I was more just looking to have a healthy spare motor).

On December 15, 2022 I contacted them again on Facebook asking for updates and mentioning that I'd like a refund if they weren't going to be able to deliver my order anytime soon. I got an automated reply saying they'll get back to me during business hours. On December 20, 2022 I sent the same message again, this time I got an automated reply saying they were away for the holidays (and would be back on December 23). On December 27, 2022 I sent the same message again, same automated reply with the same date.

On December 30, 2022 I got a reply saying they are still working on it, and that if they don't hear anything within the next 2 weeks they'll refund me.

On January 16, 2023 (2 weeks had passed) I asked for my deposit to be refunded. They read the message, but no reply since then.

I'll probably try to send another message next week. I don't expect the motors to ever be shipped (and in the year since I put down my deposit I've been able to source a good used motor locally along with a rebuildable one with low compression). I'm just looking for my deposit back at this point.

Edit: I finally got a refund this morning (January 26, 2022) after bugging them some more this week.

So, bottom line, is it advisable to stay away from this vendor? I was about to inquire about a hardtop till I read this.

I believe they are legitimate, just very disorganized, and slow. I'd just be extra cautious (and use a payment method with buyer protection, and use it before the dispute time window runs out if you don't get the item).

Just wanted to throw this out there that they are legit...I placed an order for a hardtop back in February/March of last year, and finally picked it up in October in Grand Junction. There would be months of no communication while they sorted out their visa problem or whatever, but they would send out updates about when they shipped, when they were delivered to the US, etc... I would usually get a response a day or two later if I emailed them directly with a question. Maybe now that they have some hardtops in the US it might be a much easier process??

I've gotten much better responses since switching to facebook messenger, and that is how I would recommend you keep in touch with them.

I'm having a bit of trouble with my order of a trans and diff as well, but the root cause is not Prestige. Fedex lost my package. I am going to hold it out as the 3.63 Torsen I ordered is hard to come by and they don't have a replacement at the moment.

I do have an update on my order. I heard back from Prestige spare a few days ago on this forum. They have no idea what happened to the hardtop I ordered, lost track of it or something.

They did offer me a different color hardtop for a slight discount to make up for it. The new top is already in Grand Junction and is ready for pick up. Just have to find time to go get it.

The slow communication is frustrating but it seems I will get a hardtop in the end

I will add to this thread and say that 5 months after my order and 1 month after an official refund request through Paypal, I still do not have my money or my parts.

I highly recommend anyone reading this to consider what you see in this thread before giving money to Prestige Spares.
