I did, twice...... Fedex lost one set and the second set was damaged in shipping so I gave up. I didn't want to throw 3.63 in until I had a 6spd. Somehow my 5spd is still going so I'm going to put this off for a while. I could use a little cash anyway.
That housing is from an RX7 and is slightly offset compared to the OEM miata one. The drive gear is 20 teeth and will bring your mechanical speedo close.
I verified this with a speedo calibration before and after through speeds up to 65mph. With the 4.3 drive gear that the car was equipped with, it was reading high by 7mph, with the setup in the photo it was within 1.3mph which could just be mechanical error.
EDIT: While googling the part numbers i came across this. So basically I don't have to type it all out.
Speedo Parts:
M502-17-441 (20 tooth gear molded onto shaft)
1011-17-442A (aluminum sleeve that's offset for the smaller dia 20 tooth gear)
9922-20-214 (small roll pin to lock shaft and gear into sleeve)
9958-60-8166 (internal oil seal for shaft to sleeve)
1011-17-443 (o-ring to seal sleeve to transmission)
