Default OS Giken MSM diff w/ 3.6 R&P

Gearing up to sell my Mazdaspeed MX-5 and had a stock diff swapped in- so now this beast is sitting on a shelf ready for its next home:

OS Giken diff (MSM; regular miatas will need to upgrade to use this)
3.6 gears (cryo treated)
Fresh quart of absurdly expensive OSG gear oil
Solid sleeve upgrade instead of crush collar

This was put together by Ben Herne at PuddyMod Racing to, iirc, their Stage 2 specs.

"PM Stage 2 rear build,
The rear is set up for N/A and boosted cars.
It is rebuilt from the housing in starting with every rotating part being cryogenically thermo cycled, then new pinion bearings and seals are used to assemble. There is a one piece PuddyMod solid steel sleeve used instead of an OEM crush collar. The solid sleeve is made of 10/20 mandrel steel, it is seamless and will not compress under heavy stress like the OEM can. Solid sleeves are used in high performance racing rear ends because they work. The PM sleeve is a custom made part to fit this rear, it is a one piece steel sleeve. The stock hardware is replaced with new 10.9 hardware. Backlash is set at 2 to 3.5 thousands giving a tighter gear to gear fit.
Full Blueprint assembly of rear using precision accuracy to better than factory tolerances. "

The OSG unit also has Ben's recommended tune for a 220whp Miata vs whatever settings it ships with (which would be for an s2000).

Aluminum housing not included.

$2280 shipped within the continental US.

More pics from it being built:

And pics Ben took while building it:
OS Giken diff being tuned for the MSM per Ben's recommendation (ships from the factory dialed in for an s2000).

All the goodies

Granted I'm no diff expert, but out of round by only .0012 strikes me as pretty damned round.

PuddyMod solid sleeve instead of the stock crush sleeve.

12 inch pounds turning torque

Backlash

Finished
