Welp. That's what I get for being a noob.

I will visit CSTG and measure one and polish it up.

I gotta believe though that the bit of carbon that was on there before cleaning is far more "harmful" in terms of performance/even burn than the scratches I've caused with my metal brush. Can't even feel them or hang a nail on them or anything. :dunno:

i never said you had caused damage to them scept for the swirls that may or may not be harmful..all i pointed out was the correct way of cleaning them which i believe you still can do.
but please, DO NOT sand them down..polish them with 2000 grit wet sandpaper

Why the hell would you bother to clean them at all? It's not like they won't just get blackened again.

i agree, makes no difference..they'll be black in 50 miles...but i'm ---- about clenaing parts

I cleaned them because some Supertechs i've seen in pictures had the size and/or other information etched into the crown. I was hoping that by cleaning them I could doubly confirm that they're supertechs, and maybe even confirm the bore size. Cleaned two of them... no dice.

I'll get measurements.
