Tuckin '99 NA flare replicas for sale

I have made exact copies of the Tuckin '99 flares for the NA Miata. $450 shipped anywhere in the contiguous states.

PM me for more info or if you have any custom work you want done. These are a built better than the Tuckin flares in my mind. The Tuckin flares are more brittle and less flexible, but weigh the same. There is also not a 6 month wait for these like with theirs.

Cspence 12-03-2009 10:41 PM

I still can't get over how nice these look!

RotorNutFD3S 12-03-2009 11:10 PM

As soon as some funds free up you'll have my order.

p51hellfire 12-04-2009 12:34 AM

im in for a set as soon as i get the cash too!!!

vehicular 12-04-2009 12:47 AM

I'm so buying another Miata in a few days, I'm putting set of these on it.

chan1234 12-04-2009 01:32 AM

what has to be done to put these on? and what a good wheels to use with these? i have xxr 15x8's with 0 offset

FRT_Fun 12-04-2009 02:03 AM

I'm pretty excited to get mine!

Hi Im Simon 12-04-2009 02:09 AM

are you going to continue making these? my funds are tied up at the moment till probably after new years.

group by, by any chance?

rharris19 12-04-2009 09:56 AM

Thanks for all the comments guys. I will be doing these for a little while, but it is all dependant on how busines goes. If it gets crazy busy again, which I don't forsee happening in the near future, then I have to shift my focus on to that.

Chan1234: You will be folding the oem fender up and putting these over it. This way you have clearance for the tires and you can pop rivet them on or use sheet metal screws. Here is a lnk to where they talk about wheels for these flares What wheels to go with Tuckin99 N2 Flares?? I am pretty sure the current wheels you have would work perfectly with the flares.

Simon: As of right now, I am not really looking into a group buy. I think they are priced pretty competatively as is. No offense or disrespect ment by that.

spd579 12-04-2009 10:47 AM

I'll be getting a set...

Drill holes, trim existing body panels, attach with fasteners of choice....I'm using rivnuts.....and those 15x8 0ets are not going to fill these flares without a healthy spacer.

Put these up for sale at CR yet? Dey go for dee dope shizzle, although you'll get flamed for knocking off their precious overpriced JDM stuff.

airbrush1 12-04-2009 08:27 PM

No not yet. I am not anticipating a warm welcome from a few.

FINE, when and where can i order

rharris19 12-05-2009 04:30 PM

PM me. I have a few sets left from the first batch. I won't be making more for another couple weeks.

jacob300zx 12-05-2009 05:36 PM

Awesome! Good job Robert on the pieces and the price.

kotomile 12-05-2009 06:17 PM

Man, good work. If you put these up at CR and RD you'll make a killing.

rharris19 12-05-2009 07:50 PM

rd=roadster drift? Never heard of it. I am going to put them up over there soon. Just wanted you guys to get first grabs.

MiataRoadster 12-07-2009 06:46 PM

Can you do them in CF?

rharris19 12-07-2009 06:56 PM

From a looks standpoint, it would be difficult to get the material to go over everything without messing up the weave, but doable. I don't think they would weight less than the fiberglass though. It is all pretty light as it is. Are you just asking from an aesthetic view?

Yeah, to match hood, trunk, hardtop, mirrors.

rharris19 12-07-2009 07:07 PM

Let me see what I can do. I need to get my fiberglass supplier to send over some carbon to play with and work a couple molds with it. Everything else in this industry has come down in price the last couple months, but carbon is still $40/Yard. Kinda sucks.

The ones on my car were the originals that Robert used to make the molds....judging from his pictures they are EXACT replicas!

jacob300zx 12-11-2009 07:16 PM

Is there anyway to color the gel coat black?

curly 12-11-2009 07:53 PM

http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:i...ay%2Bpaint.jpg

lulz. Pretty sure he said no in the hood thread.

rharris19 12-12-2009 12:04 AM

I can make it black, but black gel coat would add $25 to it. Black gel coat is much more expensive and I have to use a better brand to get it to come out right. Currently they are grey, which is much more forgiving and will be painted.

rharris19 12-21-2009 10:38 PM

I am going to try to make a set of these in carbon fiber over the Christmas/New Years time if anyone besides Bill is interested.

p51hellfire 12-21-2009 11:42 PM

how much more? I'm listening???? :hustler: are there any pics of your fiberglass ones on cars?

you dense??

I asked for the ones he made not tuckin 99 yes I know there the same I just wanted to see fitment... thats all?

rharris19 12-21-2009 11:56 PM

I can snap a couple pictures of mine if you want, but they fit/look exactly the same as the Tuckin' models. Mine are more forgiving to flex than theirs though.

Not a problem. I will take some tomorrow and post them up.

p51hellfire 12-22-2009 12:00 AM

well I'll take your word for it but what about those carbon fibre ones? lol how much would those be :noes:

rharris19 12-22-2009 12:20 AM

I will have to see how much of a pain it is to make these and what the materials cost will be. Shouldn't be substantially more.

p51hellfire 12-22-2009 12:23 AM

well damn if it all works out for ya I very well may be interested I has a job now so the miota is gonna get sexy fast lol but seriously if not i'll still want them eventually... along with your hood with the molded lids

Do you want me to take a picture of my dick or the mold I just made? Seriously what's the point if the mold is made from the flares, it's not like rharris sat down with a ruler and went at it.

Anyway sweet thread, glad to see a cheaper alternative.

honestly I couldn't here you lame excuse over the sound of how awesome I am..... :fawk: plus I don't wanna buy a microscope just to see your dick mold..... just my :2cents:

jacob300zx 12-22-2009 12:54 AM

What would be the cost for a carbon hood? Are there any pics of the finished fiber one?

hijack///

rharris19 12-22-2009 01:00 AM

PM me on the carbon hood. Won't really be any weight savings over the hood that you picked up since that one was light already. It would have to be dry carbon to make a difference and I found out it is REALLY expensive to do dry carbon because it must be bought in a full roll, which is about $5000 and kept refrigerated at all times. Even then, it has a somewhat short shelf life.

p51hellfire 12-22-2009 01:00 AM

beat me too it

albumleaf 12-22-2009 03:12 PM

Can't a man post pix of his dick what kind of country is this!! >.<

FRT_Fun 12-22-2009 03:44 PM

In for pix of dick.

Still need to install my flares (waiting on suspension and wheels :/ )

Haven't personally seen the flares I got but a friend said they were very nice ;)

johnmatt 12-24-2009 04:11 PM

Would you be willing to sell just the rears? Those would work nicely for something I have in mind for the future

rharris19 12-24-2009 10:40 PM

Yeah I could do that. Send me a pm and we can work something out

kickinoutyo 03-26-2010 04:17 PM

Bob,
Please check your email. A local is trying to email you and won't stop annoying me with endless emails about how he can't get a hold of you and I'm about to stab him in the heart, leaving you somewhat liable in the civil suit.

Naw, all I had was 5/16-18 riv-nuts....the tool could install any rivnut though, you'd just have to use a different draw bolt.
