VVT engine in the Monterey
In about a month I'm going to be dropping in the new ecotec turbo, and that means getting rid of the stuff that's in the car. I'll have all my engine and turbo related parts up for sale once the engine is out and ideally sold, but if you want to buy the engine then the MK Turbo kit, MS3 ecu, wiring harness, etc etc. is on the table too.
2002 VVT engine. It runs well and has 120k on it, about 10k boosted. Oil pan is tapped for an oil drain line. Compression test is good, but it burns a bit of oil, and a leak down test strongly suggests the exhaust valves are leaking. Other than the oil consumption, there is no evidence of any issues when running. That said, you should be expecting to do at least a top end rebuild. I'm only interested in a local sale before the engine is pulled because I'd like the buyer to be able to test the engine in person before handing over any benjamins. I'm planning to pull the engine mid-April, but I'd be open to ripping it out earlier if the buyer is in a hurry. Bare long block - $600
