VVT motors GROUP BUY

Group buy is now CLOSED
Hey folks,

We are clearing out space in the shop, and you have a chance to get four vvt motors for a big discount.

Engines are stripped, bare, and with unknown mileage (simply because we lost track on it). Mileage estimates between 76k-110k.

Engines were tested prior to removal.

We can ship out the four of them in a single crate for the price of 1900$, which is 475$ each!

A single order would be 625$ which is 175$ off our 800$ asking price.

If you'd like a squaretop manifold to be added then add only 200$ and allow us for some time to source it

Priority will be given at any time (until we reach 4 buyers) to a buyer who will want all four.

Once the list is complete we will be sending out PM's.

Put your name on the list like so:
1.
2.
3.
4.

edit: adjusted single order pricing

One question though. Can you for 100% certain say the engine is good? I've had really really awful luck with engines in my BP car car lately (two rod knocking engines I was told were good in a row) and just want to be sure. Pulling engines in and out does get quite tiring after the third time.

UK_Miata_Parts 02-25-2019 04:36 PM

We don't do compression tests but we test all engines for two hours prior to removal. We check for odd noises, smoke, overheating, excessive leakage etc.
We are not selling an engine with the slight bit of knocking sounds.
Engines come with a 30 day warranty assuming no boost/race application.
Any problem like that, please send us a video recording and you will be refunded immediately.

Awesome, that's completely fair. Definitely in for it then

BigEasy 02-26-2019 06:06 PM

You can put me down for one engine and one squaretop manifold! Excited to get an engine and manifold this cheap for an endurance car build!

Jesse99James 02-26-2019 06:49 PM

Posting again since I'm showing myself to also be a Noob loser.
After a little thought I realize this way it'll be quotable and easier to add a 4th name...

3. BigEasy +Flat/Square Top Manifold

TheBandit 02-27-2019 09:09 AM

I'll take the lot of (4). If UK is open I might be able to add in additional parts to the order and ship once stateside if that is desirable. I'm in Oklahoma for what it's worth.

UK_Miata_Parts 02-27-2019 10:17 AM

Group buy is officially closed. Six engines will be going out to TheBandit, Scaxx and BigEasy.
Thank you for your orders!

Scaxx 02-27-2019 01:24 PM

Really looking forward to getting my engine and having my little beater Brad back again. I'm glad you did the group buy, it was just the thing to push me over the edge

matrussell122 02-27-2019 01:59 PM

NOOOO Dont jump!:crx:

Scaxx 02-27-2019 11:22 PM

Don't worry, you can have the tubing bender and square die if I jump :)

UK_Miata_Parts 03-18-2019 11:23 AM

Almost ready to ship the bigger order of the three.
We are sorry for the delays, but we had to catch up with a lot of orders, both here and in mainland UK.
For a bonus - A complete dipstick worth more than the 4 engines combined!

Scaxx 03-18-2019 11:37 AM

Ahhhh shit! I got that invincible cali dipstick on one of my engines.

TheBandit 03-19-2019 05:38 PM

I appreciate the deal offered here, but if the ad had stated a 3+ week lead time I would have been much less apt to send you $1,900.

As a vendor on this site myself, I know that this would be unacceptable to any of my customers without prior communication. I've opened up a communication dialogue through PayPal in hopes that we can come to an agreeable resolution for shipment.

vteckiller2000 03-19-2019 06:11 PM

Classy...

concealer404 03-19-2019 06:23 PM

The classiest! 5/7 now more likely to purchase additional products from especially in light of how awesome the experience was the last time!

UK_Miata_Parts 03-19-2019 06:41 PM

I literally just posted yesterday a photo of YOUR four engines on a pallet almost ready to go, and you go ahead and file a claim against me. I don't know what to say really...
Maybe I should have been more clear about the engines needed to get stripped, and yes handling time has been delayed, but I apologized for it and given proof of progress and been very communicative with you on pm's.
There is an added complexity of shipping overseas a 1200lbs shipment. Special care must be taken. Heck most shops/vendors (including you) wouldn't even bother shipping the smallest of items to a different country.
You will have a tracking number very soon, in the meantime I hope you'll do the right thing.

Scaxx 03-19-2019 07:04 PM

Bro. If it was a problem, why did you wait this long to reach out and ask about them? Yossi has been more than responsive to all my PMs and been a joy to work with.

Ryan_G 03-19-2019 07:17 PM

TheBandit 03-19-2019 07:23 PM

Yossi - Just to clarify I didn't file a "claim" against you. I called PayPal to see what they suggested based on the timeline, monetary amount and minimal communication with no firm commitment on shipping lead time. They then recommended and filed what they call a "dispute" which allows open communication with them being in the loop. They offered and I declined to file a "claim" which basically requires you to send them tracking information ASAP or the funds would be returned.

I'm not trying to instigate conflict, but I haven't heard anything from you in two weeks. The last communication we had didn't have a firm shipping lead time which I had asked for several times. If you had communicated that these motors weren't ready to ship and required 3+ weeks in this ad or when I asked via PM several times, my expectation would be much different. I'm trying to help out a friend locally who spun a bearing and wants to start participating at local autox events and maybe keep an extra for myself.

As a point of clarification I do ship internationally. I also work a day job that ships devices the size of a plane fuselage both domestically and internationally. I do have a general understanding of getting large things from place to place and I appreciate you taking care in shipping these items. But as you said yesterday (admittedly I didn't see your post until today after speaking with PayPal) you've barely started working on crating these engines. To that point, it shouldn't be my responsibility to chase down an old thread to get an update when I've asked several time directly.

As long as we can get things rolling I don't foresee things escalating any further.

I can think of many other people who should be posting about insufficient follow up, missed due dates and lack of communication...

Thanks for lookup. I never said or implied it wasn't more difficult to ship overseas. There are extra steps that have to be taken, without a doubt. That being said I didn't take Yossi's money until logistics were determined.

I messaged Yossi several times trying to get a firm ship date, to which his replies were generally "I'm working on it" or "I'll get it out soon". I didn't expect next day shipment, but I certainly didn't expect 3-weeks before shipment either.

I can only speak from my experience, and I have nothing to gain from making enemies. I hope this all moves forward to a happy ending.

Perhaps the group buy for engines costing half (or less) than market USA price may not have been the best place to shop for an engine someone local needs NOW.

Same, I am still waiting for a response from you from 2017 regarding reroute spacer thickness which rendered my reroute essentially unusable because no radiator hose could fit between the outlet and the coolant plug. A moot point now functionally, but relevant to this discussion.

concealer404 03-19-2019 07:54 PM

I remember ordering that specific spacer and not receiving any sort of communication from the seller until after the scheduled delivery date had come and gone. At which point, communication was driven by ME reaching out to the seller for an update, not the seller contacting me out of the blue volunteering information.

I do love me some good ironing.

A group buy in which I literally was the "group". As I mentioned in the above reply, I didn't expect next day delivery. I did however expect communication of a ship date within a week of payment.

I replied to your spacer thickness issue with a product revision and an offer to swap out existing products for a new version.

I'm sorry to hear you had anything other than a completely satisfactory experience. As this has been some time ago I can only try to comb through the messages/threads to see what happened.

You replied to anyone reading your thread, which I was not. I messaged you via email. Water under the bridge.

Yossi has always delivered admirably in the past.

Group buys are always a much slower option for the trade off of significant financial benefits. Opening a dispute rather than contacting someone who is on the forum EVERY DAY is a dick move. Be nice instead.

A bit hollow, as this was pointed out to you almost exactly 2 years ago as well, and at that time you made no such indication that you were interested in doing so. It's fine, the car in question isn't even in existence anymore and i am now the proud owner of two Qmax reroutes. I'm not looking to get anything out of you besides an admission that perhaps those who throw stones shouldn't have two birds in the hand or whatever the proverb is. ;) Especially, you know.... as a vendor on this site.

Tracking provided for @TheBandit's order.
@Scaxx and @BigEasy your engines are getting crates tomorrow and should be shipped next week.

Scaxx 03-28-2019 11:04 AM

Dope! Looking forward to it!

BigEasy 03-28-2019 08:30 PM

Sounds good!! Thanks for the update

Scaxx 03-29-2019 03:28 AM

I noticed your cat count seemed kinda low so I went and looked at your cats and it looks like someone neg bombed you in your thread. They also got concealer for at least one. Whoever did that, not cool. I went through and fixed them.

UK_Miata_Parts 04-04-2019 10:44 AM

I would like to throw out a good word to @TheBandit as we were able to resolve this situation outside of paypal. He is a stand-up guy and I wish him all the best in his businesses.

Scaxx 04-08-2019 12:01 PM

Engine came in today, 5 days from when I got tracking. Now that's impressive. Looking forward to getting my car back on the road, thanks man!
