STILL TAKING ORDERS
While I'm waiting for the manufacturer to supply a sample set of gears for testing, I can still process more orders. Please email me if you'd like to participate: Bill@MiataRoadster.com

Since I missed the group buy. Anyone parting with their 3.63 gears?

I'm selling my set.

God damn it. Every time this thread bumps I consider getting the 3.3 and have to forcibly control myself not to. 3.63 is good enough. 3.63 is good enough. 3.63 is good enough...

I was just actually reading and I saw your tester is Puddymod?! Hell yeah I know that guy, very very good shit. He's well known here in Tampa, FL, or practically everywhere
My expectations just x100. |
3.3:1 update
The 3.3:1 ring & pinion first article has finally arrived from the manufacturer in Taiwan.
It's now in the hands of diff guru Ben Herne (AKA Puddymod Racing) in FL. We're seeking a 1.8 mule car in the Tampa area to do an install and test it out before approving production of the parts for the group buy participants. Contact me if interested in helping out and receiving a discount on this gear set and setup by Ben. I'm still able to accept additional orders until Ben gives the green light that everything is good. So contact me if you want a set. I realize that we're running quite a bit behind the initial schedule, so thanks for everyone's patience with this process. Here's a pic of the actual parts: http://miataroadster.net/brands/miat...nion/33rap.jpg |
Not that the Miata is a drag car but...
I noticed just now that according to FM's gear calculator that the 3.9 gear in my car will likely necessitate a 4th-5th gear shift IF I am going to pass 100mph at 7200rpm. (1/4 mile dragstrip) Both the 3.6 and the 3.3 remove the need for the 4th to 5th shift. The 3.3 also moves 0-60 to a first and second gear thing instead of having to go 1st-3rd. I know these are pretty much dumb reasons to upgrade for a road/handling car but for anyone looking for the last thing to push them over the edge, here you go. |
I hope your test car is a higher horse turbo car so we can see if they hold up.
|
Can I trade my 3.63s? :P

Pdexta could probably give it a serious shakedown. |

If it was soon I was going to test and my current power level, then test at 350hp. I dunno, I still may like 3.63s gearing more. I'd like to back to back drive them of course. |
How much longer till we get gears shipped out? Any updates on abuse testing?

I've been driving around a friend's turbo'ed 2004 Focus SVT. The gearing is a thing of beauty. I ran the numbers. I'm excited that the 3.303 will produce the closest gearing to the SVT:
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...1&d=1398743367 This assumes 195/50/15 on the miata and stock tires on the SVT. |
