Another Saturday at MS Labs
2 Attachment(s)
So its Saturday, I'm out of Megasquirt boards, what to do?
Oh wait. Lets build something pretty and useful, like a 24-output CAN expander for the Megasquirt: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1358014784 Feeling satisfied for the day. |
I just like that you take good pictures.
|
Thanks. There's no such thing as having too many hobbies.
(Nikon D300, 18-55 non-VR, SB-700) |
Nice board work.
Nice camera, too. Did you start out shooting film or digital? |
Son of bitch, shit. You make me feel like I'm not living my life properly.
|
Digital. I've only shot film with a compact when I was a kid and I hated it.
|
If I lived in Greece, I'd be making wine right now...probably wouldn't even have a car. You know what they say, the philo is always thinner on the other side.
|
You could probably make some nice Moschofilero.
|
Mil spec connectors

Have you ever thought of making some-sort of a TPS output for us track rats data logging on the track? I'd love to get throttle data into my G2X.

Still way better than a D-sub or a rectangular AMP. I grew to love the positive lock, twisting action back when I was in the army. |

Not to dookie on you balaclava, but what's the point of CAN on a miata with it's 70s technology? Educate me.

I ditched my entire Innovate logchain for this. |
I got that, just didn't see how to implement this on a miata which had no CAN provision.
|
Which is why running CAN (2 wires) across the car is extremely easy and efficient.

Thus, if one requires more inputs or outputs on a Megasquirt than are afforded in the stock configuration, one can chain a secondary processor to it via CAN to provide those additional I/O. What interface would you rather see used here, ethernet? |

Don't laugh, we still use RS-485 quite a bit in broadcast facilities. It's ideal for long-distance interconnect of simple microcontroller-based devices.
|
I know, that's what we used on the SAM site to interconnect the radars, the launchers and the FDC.

Is it sad that I recognized the RFC for IPoAC without even having to look it up? (Granted, that's an oldie.) |
That's pretty
|
What sort of micro are you using?

Mad Genius? Check. Familiar with advanced weaponry? Check. At last, Reverant's secret alter identity as Ernst Stavro Blofeld is revealed! |
