Reverant MS comparison

Cause I got tired of searching for it.

MS Labs ECU Comparison Sheet

EO2K 07-20-2015 07:45 PM

Here is a silly question: What is the difference between the * and Y on the chart?

Thanks for making this a sticky, makes it easier to figure out what's in my ECU

Reverant 07-21-2015 03:10 AM

* means possible, modifications may be required.

EO2K 07-21-2015 10:38 AM

Ahh, thanks Rev. :bigtu: I'm looking to set up the 'Boost switch (Hi/Lo)' function for my MS3-B and its marked with a * I'll send you an email tonight.

Braineack 07-21-2015 11:17 AM

What hi/low levels do you want to use?

There's a VERY simple hi/low solution that doesn't require anything from the ECU.

EO2K 07-21-2015 11:23 AM

Cutting power to the EBC and running on gate?

y8s 07-21-2015 11:48 AM

we all know what a high low switch is for. high boost all the time and I have a switch I never use.

EO2K 07-21-2015 11:56 AM

Question my masculinity all you like, but I'd prefer to have something like 2-3 settings to choose from. I'd like to be able to throw the keys at people and have a reasonable expectation that when the car is returned, there is still rubber on the rear tires and the bodywork still resembles a Miata.

correct. if you don't want to run gate, you can still run a MBC as low.

EO2K 07-21-2015 12:31 PM

Yep, thats how I plan on getting 3 settings: High, low, and gate.

I also plan on implementing boost by gear, traction control and launch control. ALLTHESWITCHES! Gods help me

For some reason I just imagined your car's interior looking more like the inside of an A380 cockpit...

:likecat:

See? This is why we need the props back

That is a standard MegaSquirt-2 and does not look like a Reverant built unit, it does not even have the Miata connectors...

i was told he has the connector adapter for it.. But that sucks if it's not a ms3 and not a reverant ecu

Jbnb1 11-26-2017 05:33 PM

Guess il wait for dimitri to chime in, I haven't quite figured out how to PM on here yet

Or search...

Here's the thread where @thirdgen sold his MS3 for an NB1. Pics are there for you to compare: 99-00 MS3 PNP (custom in stock case). Maybe he sold another :dunno:. The guy seems to be trying to scam you IMO.

@Reverant can comment if he wants to.

And $1500!!!

Jbnb1 11-26-2017 07:57 PM

..

I already found the thread and contacted thirdgen... Also it's 1500 for a brand new mk turbo kit plus the ecu with a AEM wideband. so it's pretty fair imo. I'm just looking for clarification on the ecu before I drop the dough

Reverant 11-27-2017 02:11 AM

Definitely not a unit from us. The guy is either clueless himself or he is trying to scam you.

thirdgen 11-27-2017 06:52 AM

I can tell you pretty much everything about that unit. Reverant had nothing to do with it. That started out as a MS1 that was running parallel on a 97. Then I put it in my 99 and many modifications were made until it became ms2 standalone. I drove my car for like 4 years with this ms, then I upgraded to MS3.

If somebody has wiring diagram for MSlab ms2 basic (90-93) for the D-Sub connector wires id be happy to have it. Didnt have an answer from mslab or reve for weeks so lets see if someone watches the forum :) Thanks!

akbloom 04-02-2019 11:08 AM

@sember you might be in luck. I have an mslabs enhanced ms2, I don't know how that compares to the basic, but here's a screenshot of the pinout for my D-sub connector

Thanks, i had two of these boxes and found my original ones data sheet where i found some information but was unsure if those were the same as the one with pre wired aem wideband on it. Some of those enchanced ones are unavailable with basic version but i can check and compare only those options that are available on it too :)

Does anyone have a saved archive of the MS3 Basic vs. MS3 Enhanced laying around? It looks like the link has expired/broken.

Reverant 04-09-2020 03:30 PM

Check now: https://www.mslabs.gr/mslc.html
